NDA stands for National Defense Academy and as the name suggests it is an academy meant for providing necessary training and education to those who have cleared NDA entrance examination and are looking to be an defense officer. Also NDA has three wings which includes Indian Navy, Indian Air force and Indian Army.

NDA entrance examination is held twice every year by Union Public Service Commission in two stages which includes Written examination and Service Selection Board interview respectively.

--> For appearing in the same examination one needs to have the qualification mentioned below :-

* You must be an unmarried Indian male candidate.

* Your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

* You must have either completed your higher secondary school degree or any other degree equivalent to same or must be in the final year of same with any discipline from a recognized institute. But for joining Indian Navy and Indian Air force your main subjects in the same degree course must include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Now as your date of birth is 05/11/1997 which means you are just over 18 years old at this time. Also as the NDA 2016 examinations will be held in April ( NDA I ) and September ( NDA II ) which means your age will be below 19 years at the time of both these examinations and hence you are eligible for NDA 2016 examination on the basis of your age criteria but you need to satisfy the other requirements too for appearing in the same.

For further queries you can log on to the official link of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in.
