Is it better to join merchant navy after XII or is it better after b-tech
if after b-tech then what stream should i select in b-tech?
I am confused please help me! plz

If you are planning to join after class-12, merchant Navy offers various degree or diploma courses in mainly two specialized fields, Marine engineering and Nautical (Deck).

The eligibility criteria is :
• Age Limit- 16 – 25 yrs.
• You should be medically fit i.e fit (strong physically and mentally) for sea-services under standard norms.
• No color blindness. Eyesight without glasses should be 6/6.
• You should be a citizen of India.
• Class 12 pass with PCM (min 50% marks in English and min 50 % aggregate).
• Only unmarried Males and females.

You shall have top appear for The All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test (AIMNET) is conducted by Bharat Shipping Limited usually in the month of November-December every year.
If you are planning to join after B-tech, the requirements are :
• Graduate from a recognized University with min 50% marks in the final year.
• Age limit is 17.5 – 25 yrs.
• Relaxation 2 yrs for females.
• Relaxation of 5 yrs for SC/ST.
• You should be physically fit as per the medical norms.
• Eyesight without glasses should be 6/6.
