do we have to take biology in 12th to study b.tech in biotechnology

hello dear
biology in 12th is not necessary to study b.tech in biotechnology.

the essential subjects are

1.math.
2.physics.
3.chemistry.

if you know biology then you will get some extra advantages while you do b.tech...

If you want to pursue Biotechnology in your bachelor's, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main stream subjects in the +2.
The same subject combination is required in both b.tech and Integrated M.tech in biotechnology.

There is no need to take biology to do B.tech in biotechnology.
There are many engineering colleges which offer B. Tech in Biotechnology for maths students.
The course is offered in some of the IITs as well.
So, prepare well for IIT-JEE and AIEEE.

No it si not necessary to have Biology in your 12 but if you have it, it is better as biotechnology is based on living beings so you need to have knowledge about them.
One best option is that you should go for maths +biology combination.

Without have biology in 12th, you will not get admission in biotechnology. So, you have to pass in 12th exams with 55% marks in Physics Chemistry Maths & Biology.

To get admission in biotechnology, you have to appear the entrance exams first, Because manny university and colleges conducts his own entrance exams. After
clear the entrance exams, you will get admission in B.tech biotechnology.

Its necessary to take biology in 12th because you will be studying the advanced
course. It will be a continuaton of your 12th course. So if you have already taken biology in 12th, then it will be easy for you to understand the concepts.

Yes students those who wants to opt for Biotechnology at there Bachelor degree must have studied Biology in there +2.

Candidates who have opted for PCM as there main and Biology as an Optional he/she can also opt for B.Tech Biotech.

For Example:- In AIEEE you have to appear for PCM, after cracking the entrance if you also have Biology then only you can opt for B.Tech (Biotech).

Students with PCB as there main and MAthematics as optional can also go for B.sc, B.Tech in Biotech. But for such candidates who wanted to opt for B.Tech he/she have to go through entrance like- VITEEE, KIITEE, and other entrance of there own state.

Yes friend, if you have decided to take Biotechnology in B.tech, then Biology in 12th is the best option. Because, in my B.E college days, in final semester we took Biotechnology as one of the Elective Subjects. Except Biology students, everyone felt difficult to study and clear that subject. All CS and Commerce students just got border pass in that subject and cleared. So, its better to take Biology in 12th....!!!!!!!!!!

While only for science students it is optional that whether they want to take computers or biology in their +2.

candidiates who have pcm can also go for a b.tech corse in which you can get admission on the basis of aieee exam and in aieee you go for pcm

you can fill the form after passing 12th with science.
in more than 700 colleges ,you can fill your candidature for biotech subjects

You will be eligible to give the entrance for sure but I think that an additional subject of Biology or biotech or sometimes other subjects like genetics is also required for admission.

Yes it is necessary that you should have bio. Since biotechnology is a part of

technical study so before taking admission to any biotech college you should

have a basic knowledge about biology . As we can see the case of Engg. the

minimum eligibility is 10+2 with PCM. Since some colleges will doesn't bother

about this so it may be possible to get admission without bio.

in karnataka CET, it is not necessary that you study biology at +2... since it is an engg stream... only PCM aggregate will be considered..

No, my friend there is no such criteria.. u just only have maths,physics,chemistry in your 10+2..As you are interested to do btech in biotechnology, then you can go for it..

but, I want to say some thing to you, as you have interest in biotechnology field then why you don't want to take biology in your 12th..

if you don't have interest in biology, then i will suggest you to take biology as your 4th subject.. It will help you a lot in biotech. field...
