my B.E percent is good but my 12th standard percent is 58.9%, so, i am eligible for gate exam or not.

yes, you can apply for GATE exam as the qualification for the exam is any graduate from recognised university.

You can apply online at www.gateiitm.ac.in but the registration for this year is over.You can apply next year.

The basic eligibility for an engineering student(such as you) for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is as follows:

*A Bachelor's degree holder in Engineering/Technology(4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

There is no requirement such as a minimum required percentage, hence you are eligible and may apply in full confidence.


For your information, last dates for GATE 2011 is over and exam will be held on 13th Feb 2011.

So have to wait for one year and can apply for GATE 2012.

yes...........you can apply for the gate exam with minimum percentage of marks in the inter study well all the best and one small suggestion is that try n study the first year subjects much because the gate paper consists of almost 40% of first year subjects and questions

because gate more preferences in graduation marks rather than the 12th marks

*you must be a bachelor degree holder in Engineering or master degree holder in general in any branch..
there is no any other criteria for GATE..
Your 12th result will not create any problem, because there is no link between 12th and gate..

You can apply for GATE examination.

Criteria details for GATE :

1.The candidate should have a graduation degree

2.Final year student can also apply for gate.

3.No pre final year student are not allowed for GATE.

Their is no percentage restriction for 10th/12th/graduation to appear for GATE exam.To appear for GATE exam,you should have complete graduation in engineering is only the restriction.
GATE entrance exam is held once in a year,this is conducted by IIT's to intake qualified students for Post graduation course in Engineering,Architecture and Statistical course.This exam score is valid for 2 years.

Eligibility criteria for GATE-2012 exam:
Candidate should have complete graduation degree in Engineering/Architecture/Statistical course.
or
Candidate being in final year with above mentioned course can also eligible for Gate exam.

Important dates for GATE-2012 exam:
Closing date for application form is 21st Oct 2011.
Exam will held on 29th Jan 2012.

Whatever your percentage in 12th standard it does not matters.

The only eligibility is that You are a bachelor's degree holder in engineering/technology/Architecture.

Note:- Pre-final year student of such programs can not give this exam.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and its conducted to select candidates for masters degree in technology.

Eligibility Criteria :

1. The applicant must be a graduate in B.E/B.Tech/Architecture/B.Pharmacy with minimum 50% aggregate in it from a recognized university.

2. No limits to the no. of attempts are imposed on this exam. You may take as many attempts as you want.

So 12th percentage is not actually related to the GATE Eligibility. So yeah you may apply for this exam. And if you have good marks in graduation it may also pull your percentile up.

For Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering - GATE the 12th marks is not require.
Just you have to qualify the graduation.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
