Educational Qualification: You need to have a B.Tech degree in any one of the following branch: Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering OR An M.Sc degree in any one of the following subject: Radio Physics Radio Engineering Electronics Wireless Communication If you are a final year B.Tech or M.Sc student then also you can apply for this exam. Age limit: Age should vary between 21 to 30 years. There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved categories. IES Exam Pattern: For every wrong answer 1/3rd marks will be deducted from the original score. So if you do not have any clue about a particular question it is better to avoid that question. Do not rely too much on wild guesses. Notification for this exam is generally released in the last year of January and exam is conducted generally during the last week of June. Re: Can I apply for IES exam if I am a semester ex student of B.E
The final year students are eligible to apply for the Indian Engineering Service. Therefore you can go ahead and apply for the entrance exam. Since there is no percentage criteria, there isn't likely to be any issue for you.
Indian Engineering Service is most popular entrance exam among the engineers. Since the jobs offered are in various government departments and considered reputed, Engineering graduates prefer to apply for it. The Indian Engineering Service is conducted in 4 branches of Engineering:- Civil Electrical Mechanical Electronics and Communications It is not necessary for you to belong from one of the branches mentioned above to appear for the Indian Engineering Service. However since the exam is conducted in only 4 branches, you will have to appear for it in one of these branches which means you will prepare for the syllabus for either one of the four branches. IES Eligibility 1. Nationality: It should be Indian citizen. 2. Qualification: B.Tech or B.E degree. 3. M.Sc graduates are eligible for some particular jobs. 4. There is no criteria for marks. 5. Your age should be 21 to 30 years. 6. There is a relaxation of 3 years for OBC. 7. While the relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. 8. Final year students are also eligible to apply. |
