For joining the UPSC Engineering Services you can give the IES Exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year.

Educational Qualification:

You need to have a B.Tech degree in any one of the following branch:
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering

OR

An M.Sc degree in any one of the following subject:
Radio Physics
Radio Engineering
Electronics
Wireless Communication

If you are a final year B.Tech or M.Sc student then also you can apply for this exam.

Age limit: Age should vary between 21 to 30 years. There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved categories.

IES Exam Pattern:





For every wrong answer 1/3rd marks will be deducted from the original score. So if you do not have any clue about a particular question it is better to avoid that question. Do not rely too much on wild guesses.

Notification for this exam is generally released in the last year of January and exam is conducted generally during the last week of June.

IES - Indian Engineering Service, only Graduate B.Tech. Engineers are eligible to apply for IES, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC once every year for top technical position under various Central Govt. Department.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IES.
