hey m a student of electronics and telecommunication .i jst wanna know wat min percentage should i get to apply for ies?

IES stand for Indian Engineering Services Exam.
This exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. The candidates will be absorbed into the following Engineering services by this exam -Civil Engineering -Mechanical Engineering -Electrical Engineering -Electronics and Telecommunications As you are a candidate from Electronics and Telecommunications stream, you are eligible to apply for this exam after completion of your Engineering or B.Tech course. Having fulfilled the required academic qualification, check yourself whether you possess the required age criteria to be eligible for this exam or not. Here it is, -A candidate of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -For the candidates of SC/ST category, relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years. If you fulfill the above mentioned criteria, you can apply and crack this exam. For this academic year, the last date to apply for this exam was over by 19-04-2012. ![]() ![]() In IES exam , If you completed B-TECH / BE degree then you are applicable for IES exam.There is not required any kind of Percentage Marks. So there is no specific percentage criteria for IES Exam. If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam 1.Civil Engineering 2.Electrical Engineering 3.Mechanical engineering. 4.Electronics and Communication Engineering. If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam. Any engineering branch are applicable for IES exam but you should go for above mention subject. The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate. Final year student also eligible for IES exam . Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed the engineering or b.tech from any recognized university. The following Engineering courses mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronic and telecommunication there is no minimum percentage required to eligible this exam. Age limit: the candidate age limit should be between 21 to 30 years. 3 years age relaxation for obc candidates. 5 years age relaxation for sc/st candidates. Nationality: the candidate should be citizen of india. Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible for this exam. No. Of attempts: 4 attempts for general candidates 7 attempts for the obc candidates. No limit of attempts for the sc/st candidates. IES - INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE conducted by UPSC once every year for recruitment of engineers in the top technical post under Central Govt.
There is no requirement of any percentage of marks for IES. The candidate must be an Indian Citizen having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam in any stream of Engineering or pass from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The selection is through written exam followed by personal interview. The written exam is based on the subjects from Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication branch. So candidate from other stream of engineering other then the above streams can apply for IES but they have to write exam for any one of the above streams.
