The Basic Education qualification is required for NDA Examination , the candidate should Complete 12th standard from recognized University .

Being and Commerce stream candidate your not eligible Airforce Academy . To Apply for Airforce academy you should studied Physics and Mathematics in 12th standard then Only your eligible for Airforce Academy .

Important :- Commerce stream / Arts / Vocational Stream candidates are not eligible for Airforce academy .

So, As per the Educational Qualification your not eligible for Airforce academy . But your eligible for Army academy .
So, If your interested in Army academy then you apply for this NDA Examination .

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this Examination Organized by Union public Service Commission for every twice in a year .

So,Your not eligible for Airforce academy . So, If your interested in Army Academy then you may Apply for the NDA Examination .

No,being commerce student you are not eligible because for airforce wings you must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.


NDA(National Defence Academy) is conducted two times every year.

NDA has three wings:
Indian army,
Indian airforce,
Indian navy.

Educational qualification:
12th standard from a recognised state or central board.
Percentage is not required for this exam.
For airforce and navy wings you must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.

Age criteria:
Age limits is 16 1/2 years to 19 years.
There is no relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates.

NDA Exam Eligiblity criteria : -

1) The candidate shuold have completed 12th with PCM as main subjects
2) The candidate's age should be between 16.5 to 19 years only
3) The candidate must be an Unmarried Male candidate
4) The candidate must be a citizen of india


So, you have to satisfy the eligiblity criteria of the NDA EXAM to apply for it

This exam will conducts by UPSC twice in every year

Generally , The Notification for the exam will Releases in the months of April and October


Selection process : -

1) Written exam
2) SSB Interview
3) Medical test



Exam Syllabus : -

1) General Ability - 600 marks
2) Maths - 300 marks


So from above eligibilty criteria you can come to know that 12th std in commerce field are not eligible for NDA Air force.

You are eligible for the NDA test but not for the Air Force or Navy because for this job you must have studied Physics and Maths in your 12th standard with aggregate 60% marks.

But you can apply in the Army officer through NDA where any 12th pass or appearing candidates can apply.

But don't loose your heart. I am telling you another way by through that way any commerce students can also enter in the Navy officer but not in air force. That way is after reach to your final year of graduation you can apply as a navy officer direct recruitment done by the Navy officer through the website http://nausena-bharti.nic.in

You can not eligible for the Indian Air force with commerce stream in 12th standard.

You need PCM subjects for the Indian Air force.

12th Commerce will only make you eligible for Indian Army. For Indian Air Force you should be from Physics and Maths field.

Hence you can apply for NDA examination but you will be only eligible for Indian Army.

The selection in NDA will be based on the Written exam, SSB and Medical examination.

The age must be between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be an Unmarried male.

If you want to join Indian Air Force in future then you must complete your Graduation in Commerce or any other stream and then you will be eligible for AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) for Ground Duty Branch.

Any stream Graduates are eligible for Ground Duty Branch of AFCAT provided they fulfill the age criteria.

Age limit for Ground Duty Branch is 19 to 23 years. Hence complete your Graduation well before 23 years of age so that you are eligible for this exam.

Sorry to say, but you are not eligible for air force wing in NDA, as you have studies commerce and not Physics and Maths , which h are necessary for NAVY and AIr Force selction.

After 12th Commerce, one is not eligible to apply for Indian Air Force of NDA as the minimum academic qualification for IAF is, 12th from Science stream.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for an entry in to Indian Army, navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate aspiring for Indian Air Force wing of Nda, must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

The candidate from 12th Commerce stream can only eligible to apply for Indian Army of NDA.
