dear friend,
As you have mentioned that you have one backlog in B,tech 1st semester, then you are not eligible for CDS or AFCAT exam..

If you want to appear in any of these exam then you have to clear the pending backlog first..
Otherwise you will not be eligible to appear for any exam..
so, clear the backlog as quick as possible..
After clearing the backlog you can appear in those exams..

Hey friend,

You can apply for the AFCAT and CDS exam as regarding your education qualification.

AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test

There are 3 branches in AFCAT and they may include:

• Ground Duty Branches.
• Flying Branch
• Technical Branch

Ground Duty Branches:

The candidates should have a age limit of 20-27 years of age.

Candidate must have done PG or Bachelor degree in any subject with at least 60% aggregate marks.

Flying Branch:

Candidate must have age limit of 19-23 years.

The candidate must have done B.E / B.Tech degree or any degree in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks.

Technical Branch:

Candidate must have a age limit of 18-28 years.

The candidates must have done Aeronautical Engineering with minimum 60% marks.

CDS - Combined Defence Academy

CDS exam is conducted for candidates to join in Indian Military Academy,Indian Air force and Navy

For joining in Indian Air force:

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Candidate must be a unmarried male candidate.

Candidate must have a age limit of 19-23 years.

Candidate must have degree from a recognized university with physics and mathematics as subjects.

You need to clear your backlog as you need to give your passing certificate either during exam or interview.

So, better you clear your backlog first.

Eligiblity for AFCAT is
60% in graduation..level......


Syllabus of AFCAT:--

• Reasoning
• Verbal ability
• General Awareness
• Numerical ability
• & General Aptitude.

FOR CDS
you have to be 19 half to 23 half years of age and must have passed graduation.
Candidates who are studying in the final year Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the Army HQ/Rtg.

How To Join Indian Air Force

you can try the following things in order to join the air force..

1) NDA :- NDA or National Defense Academy exam takes place twice every year and you can appear for the exam if you satisfy the following two conditions :-
a) If you are within the age limit of 16.5-19 years then you can appear for the exam..

b) you should be a 12th pass out with PCM as your subjects to join the air force..

2) CDS :- CDS or Combined Defense Services Exam is also held twice a year and for this you should satify the following conditions :-
a) you should be within the age limit of 19-23 years
b) you should be a graduate from science stream..

Apart from these things..you should have a perfect eye-sight and should be physically fit..

Is the CDS and AFCAT are seperate entries to join air force or we have only AFCAT? and is it compulsary to be agradute with aeronautical engg... to join in technical entry with age criteria 18-28 yrs or ec students are also eligible???

Yes, you can apply for Navy through CDS. CDS exam will let you eligible for Army ,NAvy and Indian Air Force too. As soon as you clear CDS exam, the ball is in your court to decide for which defese force you wanna join. You call SSB call from all three or from one or two dependeing upon marks in CDS exam.

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status for CDS 2012-I:

i. For IMA-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January, 1994 only are eligible.

ii. For Naval Academy-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1991 ( 2nd January, 1989 in case of NCC Naval Wing ‘C’ Certificate holders ) and not later than 1st January, 1994 only are eligible.

iii. For Air Force Academy-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1990 and not later than 1st January, 1994 only are eligible.

Sir, i have 6 backlogs in my btech life and cleared all of them and secured 65% in B.Tech. so what should i have to fill in "No. of backlogs" column in AFCAT form? 0 or 6?

My four year B.E. course completed in five years due to backlog but I cleared all and completed B.E. with 67%, can I apply for AFCAT ?
