IPS (Indian Police Service) is a constituent of the Indian Civil Services, popularly known as IAS.

The basic educational qualification is a degree in any subject from recognised university. So, as a BBA, you are very much eligible to appear for the exam.

The current year's notification is available in the UPSC website (http://www.upsc.gov.in/). As far as the exam is concerned, you have choice only about optionals.

And, you get to choose the optionals only for the Main exam, for which you should first clear the Prelim. You have a choice of one language and further for Papers VI, VII, VIII and IX. For the last mentioned four papers, you have to choose two subjects. Each such subject would have two papers.

If you scan through the optional subjects, you may notice that Management is one subject, which closely matches your current core discipline. You may opt for this so that your preparation becomes easy.

For the second subject, you may opt for something from out of Literature, Public Relations, Physics, History, Chemistry, etc.

You may also go through the syllabus of all these subjects and get a decent idea about the level of difficulty.

Then you may choose your optionals.

The notification is already out. Please do well.
