you can take admission direct in 2nd year engineering if you are diploma holder.some seets are reserved for Diploma holder to take admission direct in 2nd year.

It is not possible to enter for 3rd year engg. If you have done any diploma in technical education, u can directly go to 2nd year by giving the lateral entry test.

No, You can not take admission in the 3rd year of Engineering. If you complete 12th then you can take admission in the 1st year of B.Tech (Engineering) and if you complete Diploma then you can take admission in the 2nd year of engineering. You can take admission in B.Tech by the entrance exam.

Engineering is no joke!

Many students try hard each year and only a small fraction of them get selected.

There are basically two methods to enter engineering.

Method 1:

After clearing class 12 exams, you can appear for the various engineering entrance examinations.
If you score well in these exams, you will get a seat in top colleges in the country to pursue engineering.
Also, many colleges allow direct admission under management quota.

Method 2:

Colleges also the facility of a lateral entry scheme, wherein a student can take direct admission to the 2nd year of engineering. However, for such cases, a student must have a diploma in the respective branch.

If you have passes class XII, then apply for engineering entrance examinations such AIEEE or IIT-JEE which are conducted at an all India level.
Also, there are state specefic entrance exams such as WBJEE,COMED-K, MAHA-CET, etc.

You can get into second year of engg by lateral entry after doing diploma but their is not anyway to get admitted directly in 3rd year .

-you can get admission in 2nd year only in state level engineering colleges after doing the diploma.

-those who migrate to different college in same university also get admission in 2 nd year but there is no provision for direct admission in 3rd year engineering.

the only possible way to get admisson in third year in India is that you have already done second year from that college and have enough time to complete your degree.

actually your question is very vague,
there are only two ways of taking admission in engineering
1.through regular mode i.e writing the 12th exam and passing it then taking admission in the engineering from first year ,there are many competition exams conducted by different colleges for admission in the first year,
2.lateral entry in second year,this is for students who have don diploma after there 10th class and are admitted directly to second year of there engineering course.

there is no way that an student can take admission in the third year of there engineering course

first you have to give exams AIEEE, IIT or any state exams to qualify for it.

high donation will give you seat but what about marks YOUR ACADEMIC profile??

I am presently studying in 2nd year b.tech persuing ECE can I get admission in some other college in 3rd yr?

there is new scheme for admission to direct third year in engg.

currently im in one of the mumbai university collage(2nd year,branch-IT), but it's far from my house. It takes 2 hours for me to reach collage. So if im all clear in all subjects then can i migrate and take admission in other collage which is close to my house??

Engineering is a graduation course commonly known as B.E/B.Tech these days. Its a full time 4 year course/program which can be done by anybody who has passed class 12th from Science stream having studied, Physics+Chemistry+Maths.


Now after passing Class 12th, the students are to sit for the Engineering Entrance Exams like IIT JEE, AIEEE, BITSAT, SRMEEE, VITEEE, UPTU, WB JEE, etc and then clear them in order to get a seat.


Engineering is a gradual course, though some lateral entries are accepted in some colleges (Provided you have done some Diploma/1st year in some other college), but usually a candidate has to study 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year gradually.


-> One cannot jump or skip any year in between.


Now as you ask if you can take admission in 3rd year, I would say you cannot do so directly.

If you have done your 1st and 2nd year from some college and now you have a specific reason to join some other college in the 3rd year, then that can happen.

You have to approach the College authorities for more information. They would be able to provide you with their prevailing regulations and scopes for such entries.

you cant take direct admission in 3rd year enginnering because u there is no procedure in any university for this but if u have any diploma in polytechnic or any other technical diploma then u can take direct admissin in 2nd year

You can take addmision to Direct 20nd year in B.E. If you completed your Diploma. After 12 givening entrance exam you will get addmision to 1st year.

A Diploma candidate can take addmition in direct 3 rd year , this rule is in pending . For the execution of this rule the syllabus of Diploma will become large.

there is no way in which you can directly take admission
in 3rd yr engineering .
you have to give entrance exmas after your 10+2 and join in 1st yr itself
if diploma students then you can join by
lateral intry in 2nd yr i.e., in the 3rd semester

for this you should atleast have 55% in ur 10+2 or diploma level .
engineering is a 4 yr bachelor's degree course having 8semesters
