Can a MA English from IGNOU without B.Ed degree appear in UGC NET exam? Which extra subject should I study for it?


Hello sir, I am pursuing MA English from IGNOU and I don't have B.Ed degree. Am I eligible to sit in UGC NET exam to become a lecturer? Which extra subject should I study for it?

You have completed M.A degree in English from IGNOU so you are eligible for UGC NET exam. This exam doesn't require any B.Ed degree.

The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.
