I’m in the 12th.. this yr. i wish to pursue a career in biotechnology.. can you please help me as to how to go for it?

biotechnology is a vast field it consists of many branchers which are related to it like Biopharma, Biotech, Biotech services, Bioindustrial, Bioinformatics etc.

You can do M.Sc and after that Ph.d and start your career in Research or
else you can go for MBA .
US is the best destination for Biotechnology. It stands out in the field of research.......


companies like CIPLA MUMBAI ,HiMedia Laboratories are some companies in biotech market.
So it is good field with good scope..

It is a very good for your career . But it is not perfectly developed in india . If you want to do this , then its opportunities are in abroad compare to india.

Friend, biotechnology is good for you as a career option after 12th. You can join any institutes by the entrance exam. Many college and university provided this program like:
KIIT University.
VIT University.
SRM University.
Amity college.
Manipal institute of technology...etc.
You will get a good job after completing the biotech.

Do you have maths also ?
You can opt for bsc. if you have bio only otherwise you can give btech biotech entrance exams also

After 12th standard you can do B.E. or B.Tech. or B.Sc. in Biotechnology.

Eligibility: - Passed 12th standard with 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology from a regonised board of secondary education.



After B.E. or B.Tech. or B.Sc. in Biotechnology you can do M.E. or M.Tech. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology.

Eligibility: - Passed graduation with 60 % marks in Biotechnology from a regonised university.

are there good chances for job in india after doing b.tech in biotechnology?

Biotechnology is a developing field in India and there is good scope for this field is going to come.

And in recent times, Bio-informatics (going through biological aspects in computer systems and storing them in databases .

You did not mention the stream to which you belong in your 12th. I don't know whether you are having the Biology (Botany & Zoology) as the subjects in your 12th or not.

If you have biology as the subject in your 10+2, it will be an added advantage for you. Even if you don't have, there is nothing to worry.

You can join graduation in Biotechnology either
B.Sc in Biotechnology
BTech Biotechnology .

One can have good life through Biotechnology if he complete P.hd or by research. And post graduation in Biotechnology too have its own job opportunities.

if you want to grow your career in biotechnology field after 12th you have to og for graduation study in biotechnology.


after 12th you may go for B.Sc in biotechnology or B.Tech in Biotechnology. B,Sc in biotechnology is 3years course whereas B.tech in biotechnology is 4 years course. after B.tech scope and job opportunities are much higher than the B.Sc.


to take admission in B.tech Biotechnology you have to appear in engineering entrance examination like AIEEE or any state level engineering entrance examination. then take admission in a good institution. after B.tech in Biotechnology you will be eligible for GATE examination in Biotechnology paper. so you may go for M.Tech.



biotechnology is developing in India day by day. in future scope of biotechnology will be more higher. in abroad now also there is a good scope in research field of Biotechnology.

hello,I have entered 11th this year and thinking of opting for PCM and preparing for IIT-JEE because I have an unbiased interest in biotechnology and physics.I am not good in biology.Is B-tech by biotechnology a better option for me? Or is there any other course more suitable for me? And if there is then please give me some information regarding Entrance Exam for the colleges which are providing the course.I'll very grateful if you could help me in any way. Please Help.

Irrespective of your group in your Intermediate you are eligible to do Biotechnology course.

If you are an mpc or bipc group candidate,try to go for BTech biotechnology which will be offered in few college only.

So getting good rank in EAMCET is must inorder to join. After Btech completion you may have bright opportunities or you can also go for M.tech.

For joining B.SC biotech, whatever the group you are in your 10 + 2 you are eligible.

In BSC the various combinations will be
1. Biotechnology-biochemistry-chemistry
2.biotechnology-botany-chemistry
3.biotechnology-zoology-chemistry
4.biotechnology-microbiology-chemistry.



Advantages:
1.High demand for the biotech people because of shortage of biotechnicians
2.wide number of opportunities in all pharmaceutical and biotech companies
3.After completing msc biotech and if you start research, you will be paid minimum of 100000 per month
4.Biotechnology is all about making human beneficial products by using micro organisms and new technologies.
5.So new technologies coming and creating lot of employment.

Disadvantages
1.Just simply joining and completing the course in unreputed college will not fetch you anything.
2.I dont know your group in intermediate.if you are a arts student better clear about the terminology of biology and put hard efforts.

after 12th you can go for biotech engineering and this course is offered by all the best engineering colleges of india like IITs and NITs but just graduation in this field is not enough you need to do masters if you really want to make your mark in this field

Biotechnology needs good biology knowledge. If you have really good interest, you can get adapted to it in due course. If you are not confident about your biology adaptability, then pursue a career in the other interest - 'Physics'. You can do any other engineering course (electical, electronic, mechanical etc) which are based on physics. Take IIT-JEE, AIEEE or any reputed universities special entrance tests.

Why did you leave biotechnology in your preferrence list? As this is a thread based on biotechnology, I would recommend you to consider that as well.

If you want to be different or if you are not in a condition to earn immediately, choose nanotechnology.

Otherwise go for the evergreen courses electrical or mechanical. Here is the order of priority in which you may think:

1.Electrical
2.Mechanical
3.Biotechnology
4.Nanotechnology
5.Mechatronics

u can become researcher by doing MSc in biotechnology and after that u have to pass DBT JRF EXAM and do phd in any research universities ike NCL PUNE,BANGALORE UNIVERSITY etc.After that u can also do post dock in forieng for higher studies and stsrt your career as a scientist

hello im a student of 2pu(Karnataka state).my combination is pcmb and I'm interested and sound in biology. strong aspects are that I have a flair in writing,speaking and can organize and hold good presentations and also have conducted few seminars and taught my fellow students on various bio topics.
