Re: Is a computer science student eligible for IES exam?
Sure there is no restriction on the field you have chosen. You need to be a graduate to appear for the test. Also it is must that you should be citizen of India. You should not have any criminal cases pending in the court of law. You can appear for the exam on completion of the graduation course or while in your final year of graduation.

Re: Is a computer science student eligible for IES exam?
Hi
IES stands for the Indian Engineering Services. This exam is conducted on All India Basis by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and its conducted once every year. The candidates who belong to the B.E/B.Tech background in their graduation are eligible to apply for this. The age limit is from 21-30 years for GEN, 21-33 years for the OBC and 21-35 for the SC/ST candidates. The number of attempts vary from the 4 GEN, 7 OBC, and Unlimited for the SC/ST. The main streams for the IES are : Electronics and Communication Electrical Mechanical Civil Since you are from Computer Science department, I am really sorry to say that you are not exactly eligible for the IES. However as far as I know there are some scopes, if you apply in the ECE stream if you have any knowledge about that. For any more information , Please Click Here |

Re: Is a computer science student eligible for IES exam?
Hello Friend
Dude in my observation UPSC did not mentioned IES exam for a computer science student. IES (Indian Engineering Services) is the constitution of Engineers that comes under Government sector completing various tasks of Government Projects related to Railroads, Public works, Telecommunication, Power etc. So the Candidates who completed their Graduation in any of the fields are eligible for IES 1. Civil Engineering 2. Electrical Engineering 3. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering 4. Mechanical Engineering Age should be between 21 to 30 years. so in my point of view you may not eligible for UPSC IES exam, for more details regarding eligibility go through the official link www.upsc.gov.in |
