Are Computer Science students eligible for IES exam?
i m student of b.tech c.s.e. branch
i want to ask you, can c.s. branch students attend I.E.S. exam.? |

dear friend,
IES is nothing but the Indian Engineering Service. so, as per my knowledge, all the btech or be students are eligible for it. so since you are a student of cse btech, you too can appear for the exam. be thorough with your department subjects as you need to be technically strong for scoring wel in IES. all the very best. IES i.e. Indian engineering services exams........ IES Exam Eligibility: Academic Eligibility: For admission to the examination, a candidate must have— (a) obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or (b) passed Section A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or (c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or (d) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or (e) passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or (f) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959. Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts and Engineer Group 'A' in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation) may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:- M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. other than M.E & MBA COURSES available after B.E.- information technology are
1) Most important you can write UPSC examination for IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS... 2) Many government jobs are there in Engineering sectors like INDIAN OIL, NTPC, EIL, BHEL etc.... 3) you can write GATE.. |

You are not eligible for ies because cse members are not allowed. Only electrical and mechanical related branches are eligible. You go with software and information technology fields.

I am very sorry to say that, you are not eligible for the IES [INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES], conducted by the union public service commission [UPSC] every year. Through this examination, one can apply for the various engineering jobs in various governmental departments . For being eligible for this examination, you must have at least a B.TECH\B.E.\B.sc (Engi.) degree from a recognized college. A candidate must have engineering degree in any one of these streams that I have mentioned here- 1. CIVIL ENGINEERING 2. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING 3. ELECTRICAL & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERIN 4. ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING The age limit for this examination, is 21-30 years for the general candidates, 21-33 years for the OBC candidates , 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates,. No Computer Science students are not eligible for Indian Engineering Service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year once.
To appear for this exam,you should fulfill with below mentioned criteria. You should have complete Minimum graduation degree in Engineering with any one branch mentioned below >>Mechanical Engineering >>Civil Engineering >>Electrical Engineering >>Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering And your age should be between 21 to 30 year. IES is an indian enggineering serviece entrance exam. B.Tech or B.E students are eligible for this exams. So you are a B.Tech cse students so you are definately eligible for exam |

Hello Friend,
IES(Indian Engineerinmg Services) exam is conducted by UPSC for the engineers having their degree of engineering in the following streams: 1. Civil Engineering 2. Mechanical Engineering 3. Electrical Engineering 4. Electronics Telecommunication Engineering According to this eligibility criteria cadidates from CSE trade can't apply for this. Sorry. You can try in various other braches like: 1. Infosys 2. WIPRO 3. TCS 4. BHEL 5. BEL Wish you all the very best. |

Sir, I would like to inform you, the Computer engineers are not eligible for the IES (INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES), conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC),.. Only the engineers in Engineering degree(B.tech\b.e) :- >>> Civil Engineering >>> Mechanical Engineering >>> Electrical Engineering >>> Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering are eligible in this examination.. The age limit for this examination is 21-30 years for the general candidates.. 21-33 years for the OBC candidates, 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates.. Exam pattern- Syllabus- No. of attempts- Four for the general candidates, seven for the OBC candidates, No such restriction for the SC\ST candidates.. Thank you ~gamble~ |
