sir,what is the criteria for eligibility for diploma holders in iit? I am a diploma holder in electronics and communication engineering.Is there a separate entrance test for diploma holders or we will have to go through iit-jee?

it is the same as a 12th pass out student i.e., u must secure 60% in diploma
and all other criteria are also same . there is no separate entrance for diploma holders . u have to sit in the exam as all students for physics, chemistry & maths u also can't take admission in 2nd year

for IIT , it doesn't have any LATERAL entry facility but AIEEE colleges has...the same.

your qualifying exam for IIT-JEE will be

• If you are 12th class passout or appearing
  
• else if you are diploma passout or appearing...

Either of these qualification will be consider...

One must score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and there is no separate exam its common for all the students.

i am so sorry but IITs and NITs don't hold a lateral entry exam through which diploma holders can get admission into the 2nd year directly..u can try for other colleges..u can clear the lateral entry exam of your desired college and get admission..but IIT-JEE is meant only for 12th pass-outs..

no.diploma holders are not eligible in IIT.

candidate can get admission in engineering in IIT through two exam

>>IIT-JEE. for to do bachelor in engineering course.

>>GATE.for to do master in engineering course.

you can't get admission in IITs through JELET exam.

for IIT , no separate exam is conducted for diploma holders some state university and AIEEE has provision for lateral entry.

your qualifying exam for IIT-JEE will be

- 12th class pass out or appearing or diploma holders for first year graduation.
