Dear Experts,
We are moving from Abroad to Pune soon.
Our son is completing grade 1 and aged 6 years. He is graded as above his peers already.

On researching the internet, we understand that Schools in Maharashtra have a age limit of 6 years for grade 1.
If he joins CBSE or ICSE he will have to repeat grade 1 again.

Could you help understand the two questions below please.
1. Is this hard and fast rule that he cannot go to grade 2 before 7 years age even if he has completed grade 1 abroad and physically and mentally he is equal to grade 2?

2. IB board schools seem to accept students aged 6 into grade 2 if they have cleared grade 1.
if i put him for one year in IB board in grade 2, will it be possible to move back to ICSE/CBSE into grade 3 after a year?

No there is no hard and fast rule that he cannot go to grade 2 before 7 years age even if he has completed grade 1 abroad , if he passed 1st grade then you can easily take admission in ICSE Board because ICSE is international Board it is easy to take admission in any ICSE school for the students who comes from abroad

In CBSE- central Board of secondary education there is no age limit for 2nd class that you son must have 7 years old etc , you can easily take admission in any CBSE school if your son can clear the entrance test for 2nd class because mostly every school in Mumbai have their own entrance test so he must have to clear the test then they will provides admission in 2nd class ,
