Is CBSE Board beneficial for getting admission in B.Tech? How subjects of CBSE Board is different from ICSE Board for 11th and 12th? Is engineering difficult for ICSE students?
Dear Sir/ Madam,
My son wishes to pursue his B.Tech, he has currently appeared for his 10th std board exams (ICSE) and awaiting his results. There is a lot of talk among friends and family members that if he wishes to do his engineering he should do his 11th and 12th in a CBSE syllabus. 1) Does this mean that ICSE students do not get admission in engineering collages, due to Engineering collage preference to CBSE? 2) Is the subjects different in 11 and 12th between CBSE & ICSE? 3) Is it difficult for an ICSE student to cope with Engineering subjects? Thanks for your reply in advance. Regards, Suresh Nair |

No,this is purely a myth that ICSE students do not get admission in engineering colleges and any such preference exists which enables CBSE students to seek better opportunities than their counterparts.
Yes,the subjects of ICSE and CBSE are different to some extent since second language is compulsory in ICSE while that is not in case of CBSE. Moreover, the syllabus of English is tougher than that of cbse. The syllabus is more or less same in both these boards. No,it is not difficult to cope with engineering subjects or core subjects for isc students. However they have to devote more time towards study since they have to study second language and a tougher English syllabus when compared to CBSE. |
