Eligibility Criteria
• For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent • For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering • For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering Age Limits Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years Air Force Academy 19-23 Years Naval Academy 19-22 Years Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years Now let’s discuss over the cut off marks in the written test which eventually leads to call for the SSB interview. There are many rumors which are always in the air that you need to score more than 70% or more in your Mathematics, English and General Studies Paper. Candidates with average abilities can get through the written part of the exam. Any candidate who has done more than 60% in the overall score of the written examination would definitely get the call for the SSB interview. Although, according to the policy of UPSC it is very tough to know the cut off marks. It would be better if the candidates try to score at least 45 % marks in each of the papers and the overall aggregate above 60 % . As far as Officer’s Training Academy is concerned , marks of Mathematics is not considered while preparing the merit list for the interview, so one again fair chance for the students of humanity and arts back ground. Proper strategy for the students would be work hard on English and Math and they shouldn’t get worried about the General Knowledge paper as most of the candidates score low in the GS paper. For General Studies Paper questions are tilted in the favour of General Science and Current Affairs, questions asked from traditional subjects like history, geography, civics etc. are comparatively less in number. Students must go through the science books of Class 9 and Class 10 for getting better perspective of the General Science. There are several question in Economics also, for that the aspirant must stick with the current economics and definition of common terms of Economics. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE CANDIDATES. |
