In order to become an officer in income tax department one should hold a graduation degree. You can obtain graduation in any subject. 27 years is the maximum age limit for this. SSC exam should be attended as part of selection process for this post. Subject areas like GK, General intelligence, language skills etc will be part of SSC exam. You can apply online through SSC official site. On clearing this exam, you can attend personal interview as well.

Income Tax Officer Eligibility Criteria:

=>To become an income tax officer you just need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.

=>Your age should be between 18-27 years.

Income Tax officer exam is conducted by the SSB(Staff Selection Commission) once in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-

The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.

Final year candidates can also be eligible.

You must be a citizen of india.

The age limits is 18 years to 27 years,
3 years upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates,

5 years upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates.,

Eligibity criteria for I.P.S specialy for orphans

The criteria is that you need to appear for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam for Income Tax Officer. The exam is conducted on yearly basis by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).


The role of Income Tax Officer is not required to be explained. Income Tax officer collects taxes and take strong action against the tax evaders. He/She needs to act on any information on the possible evaders.



Eligibility

1. You should be of Indian origin.

2. A graduation degree in any stream.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. Final year students can also apply.



Age Limit

1. Your age should be 18 to 27 years as on July 1 of the exam year.


Upper Age Limit Relaxation

3 years relaxation for OBC

5 years relaxation for SC/ST



Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of Income Tax Officer is little similar to Civil Service Exam. There are three stages:


1) Preliminary Exam

It is a qualifying exam that contains 2 papers of 100 marks each.

General Intellegence and General Awareness

Arithmetic



2) Main Exam

After clearing preliminary you will have to appear for Main Exam that contains total of 5 papers.

Language

Communication Skill and Writing



3) Personality Test

Those who will also clear the main exam will be called for a personal interview.

Income Tax Officer Exam

Income Tax Officer Exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit the Income Tax Officer.

Educational Qualification: Those candidates have completed graduation degree from recognized university are eligible. If you are in final year of your graduation then also you are allowed to apply.

Age: Between 18 years to 27 years. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Dates of Exam:
Notification: March, 2013
Exam Date: Within July,2013 and September, 2013


The examination is conduct two ways

Written examination
Interview for Personality Test for such candidates as may qualify in the written test.

Staff selection commission conducts examination for Graduates this exam is SSC Combined graduate level exam.

The age limit for SSC CGL is 18 to 27 years there is age relaxation for special categories.

You should be Graduate in any discipline to apply for this exam.

In SSC CGL exam the questions come from General knowledge, General intelligence, Arithmetic and English language.
Tier I is of 200 marks in which each section is of 50 marks . You have to clear the overall cutoff to qualify for Tier II .

Tier II contains 2 papers and if you are applying for statistical investigator then their is paper 3 which is for statistics.

After Tier II you will be called for interview according to the post you have applied for.

You have to buy some good books then only you can clear these exams.

The UPSC conduct the CSAT examination every year. To be an Income Tax Officer, you have to appear the CSAT examination. After successfully completed the CSAT examination, you can choose the IRS (India Revenue Service) where you can get the appointment as an Income tax officer.

You must be between 21 to 30 years. age relaxation for the reserve category.
