What is the eligibility criteria to become an income tax officer?
what is the eligibility criteria to become an Income tax officer?? and what is the procedure to become an It officer??
I would wish to apply for the 2013 exam.could you please guide me with the deadlines and procedure to apply for the same. |

Hai,
Incometax Officer exam conducted by the SSC(Staff Selection Commission). Eligibility criteria:- The candidate should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university. No need of percentage restrictions to apply this exam. The candidate should be a citizen of India. Age criteria:- The age limits are 18 years to 27 years. Relaxation is as per the govt rules. 3 year relaxation for OBC category candidates, 5 years relaxation for SC/ST category candidates. Selection process:- Written examination, Personal interview. The income tax department works under supervision & control of the Central Board of Direct Taxes .
It has around 60,000 employees located in more than 500 cities across the country . Income Tax Officer exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission(SSC). Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should be citizen of India. Candidate should pass the Bachelor degree from recognized University. No percentage required for this exam. Final year appearing candidates are also eligible. Your age limit should be between 18 to 27 years. The upper age relaxation is applicable for the OBC, SC\ST & PWD candidates. hai, ITO stands for Income Tax Officer. To Become a ITO first you can crack the Combined Gradudate Preliminary Exam(CGPE) exam which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission.ITO exam is conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Commission) once in a Year. Eligibility Criteria: **Candidate must be citizen of India **Candidate Should be complete Graduation from a recognized University. **Final Year Candidates also be eligible for this exam **There is no percentage required. Age Criteria: **Candidate age limit is 18 to 27 years. 3 years age relaxation for OBC Candidates 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST Candidates 10 years age relaxation for PHD Candidates. Recruitment of Income Tax Officers is done through Staff Selection Commission.
SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruitment of various posts which include Income Tax Officers. Graduation in any discipline is required for Income Tax Officer post through SSC CGL examination. Age Limit: The age must be between 18 to 27 years if you are a General Category candidate. Age relaxation will be available if you belong to reserved categories as per the government rules. SC/ST - 5 years relaxation OBC - 3 years relaxation PWD - 10 years relaxation Exam Pattern: -TIER I ( Objective Type Paper of 200 marks) -TIER II ( 2 papers of 200 marks each which will be also objective type) -Interview There will be negative marking for each wrong answer and you have to be careful while attempting the answers. To become an Income Tax Officer, one should first of all enter the Income Tax Department as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant. Then they can get promotion to the designation of Income Tax Officer after qualifying the departmental examination. First step required for joining as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant is to qualify Combined Graduate Level examination. After that, personal interview is there for Income Tax Inspector post and Skill test is there for Tax Assistant post. Interested aspirants can apply for this All India Level competitive exam either online or offline.
Eligibility requirements Educational requirements - Aspirants who want to appear for the written examination should complete their graduation (any discipline) from any University/College approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). Age requirements - Maximum age limit specified to apply for the written examination is 27 years while minimum age limit is 18 years. Upper age relaxation of 3 years will be given for OBC candidates while 5 years will be given for SC/ST candidates. Exam Pattern Written Examination - Two separate sections are there in the written examination that is Tier I and Tier II. Those who get qualified in Tier I can appear for Tier –II examination. Duration specified to complete Tier I is 2 hours while for Tier II is 4 hours. Subjects included in Tier I are General Intelligence + Reasoning General Awareness Numerical Aptitude English Comprehension A total of 200 marks is specified for this section which is divided equally among these subjects. Tier II includes the following subjects with 200 marks each. Arithmetical Abilities English Language and Comprehension Total 100 questions will be there for Arithmetical Abilities while English Language and Comprehension include total 200 questions. Candidates can score 1 mark for each right answer while they will lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Final Selection Interview - Interview will include questions which test the personality of the candidates. There may be questions regarding the Income Tax Department, Corruption and other scenarios related to Taxation. A total of 100 marks are specified for the personal interview. Skill Test - Data entry speed of the candidates is tested during the Skill Test. This test is conducted at the Regional/Sub Regional office of Staff Selection Commission. Candidates can qualify this test only if they possess a data entry speed of 2000 words per 15 minutes. |
