Hi!

I have done P.G.D.B.M. from I.P.M.(Institute of poroductivity&management)from Lucknow in the year 2000.I have 8 years of industrial experience,recently i have started my career in academics.I want to know that if i am eligible for Ph.D. or not as i do not have master's degree.Please suggest.

It is not necessary that you must have a Master Degree to apply for Phd. You can say that it is a path that most of the people follow to do Phd, but it is not compulsory. There are some Institutes/ Universities which provide PhD degree without asking any Masters degree. Try to find them on Search Engines.

A master's degree is necessary for a good research work. But as u don't have a master's degree so u can search for different entrance exams which re conduct for applying phd and then u can go for phd.

yes you can do it....
in India very few institute offer you but in abroad its normal...

It is easy to do Ph.D after completing masters degree. But dont worry there are many institutes that provide Ph.D without M.Sc., you need to search for it.Some institutes give five year Ph.D integrated courses.

there are many types of p.hd. degrees.

1)research doctorate(p.hd.)
2)higher doctorate.(p.hd.)
3)honorary doctorate(p.hd.)
4)professional doctorate(p.hd.)

some universities provide p.hd. on to working professional on the basis of there experience and quality.
just search for that kind of universities. I think you are eligible for professional doctorate(p.hd.)

there are some institute in India which offer phd without masters.
but better prefer an foreign university

acc . to ugc rule u are not applicable

you can do integrated phd (msc+phd) from various institutes like tifer

There are some institutes which offer ph.d even without master degree so please go through those websites to collect more information.

it is in general good if some one goes for phd after masters.......some universities provide phd without masters also and some give integrated course for masters and phd.....
so you have to select a university and visit it or visit its website for further procedure

No this is not possible to do Ph.D in any subject without master degree or M.Phil.

yes friend you can surely do this from many institutes that provide integrated phd with masters...

there is no any problem that you have left academic session and after 8 year you are going to join and want to do p.hd,
actually in the real practice most of the top or reputed university are not allowed for p.hd without master degree,but there is some university or institute which allow for p.hd without master degree,so you have to find that college or university.

most of the university in india makes a phd only after the master degree.
but there is some university which can give the phd without master degree.
but they have different criteria.

There are a lot of institutes which are offering Ph.D without masters degree, and its not mandatory to have a master's degree if you want to go for Ph.D.

It could be a viable option that saves your time, money, or both.

Going directly for a Ph.D. is a good choice when:

* You're completely dedicated to your area of study.
* You want to work in a highly competitive field and need top credentials.
* You plan to teach or research at the university level, or study in a research-intensive field. While a Ph.D. is certainly no guarantee, it will get you that much closer to your goal.

So just go for it

however it is compulsory for some of the phd programmes

Well some institute accept applications that doesn't hold master's degree.
You have to search and find them.
Search on the google for the exact information about the colleges .All the best.

In India there is no too much college which provides the phd.without the

master degree.but there is some college which do so.

but in the foreign the scope is too much.

standford universitty, london provides such courses.

as well as st. thoms university is very popular for this type of course.

if you want to go for Ph.D.there is some university which can give the phd

You can go for P.hd without any master degree,but Research work would be more easier if you had a master degree...

your are eligible for phd without masters degree.master degree is only to help in research work but it is not essential for phd.its up to you.

yes masters is not required for doing Phd but in india there are very less colleges which offer phd without masters
