Sorry to say that girls are not applicable for NDA I or NDA II exam.

The details of NDA exam is given below.

NDA is stand for National Defence Academy.NDA exam exam is conducted by UPSC in twice time in a year.

You are from commerce department so you are not eligible for NDA exam .You are eligible for only Indian Army (NDA) exam.

>>Academic qualification :You must passed your 12th standard examination.Your 12th subject must be Maths and Physics.

>>Your 12th percentage must be above 60%.

>>Age criteria :Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years.

>>Nationality :You must be an Indian

Girls are not considered eligible for the National Defense Academy. The Academy, till now, is only for Male candidates. However, as per sources, proposal has been made to consider girls for the National Defense Academy but has not been approved yet.

Now before I answer your query, I am going to list down the Basic Eligibility Criteria's to be able to sit for the NDA exam :-


1. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized state board in India.

2. Your age should be within 16.5 years to 19 years as in the year of applying. No relaxations.

3. Only male Indian candidates can apply. Not for females.

4. One should be physically fit.

5. If applying for the Indian Navy or Air Force, one should have studied Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects.


Now coming to your question, I am really sorry to state that you (girls) are not eligible for the NDA 1 or 2 exams. Its as specified in the rules and regulations.


However girls can enter army later on after graduation by university entry scheme.

So firstly you have to choose any good graduation stream, and then study it for the coming 3 years. Only after that you can apply for the Indian Army.

• Indian Air Force

No,Girls are not eligible for NDA exam As Only unmarried male Indian candidates can apply for the Same.

The reason behind this may be as the Girls are not suitable for the physical training provided to the NDA cadets as that training is too hard for the girls that may effect them for their Future life.

However if Girl candidates are willing to join Defense Forces of India then they may be sent to the Officers Training Academy for necessary training but in order to be eligible to join any Defense Forces, you must hold a bachelors degree.

Girls cannot apply for NDA but after graduation they can appear for CDS

Girls are not eligible to apply for NDA as it is only meant for male candidate.

NDA-NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army. Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 16.5 to 19 years, is eligible for NDA.

If as a girl interested for Defence You may apply for it through CDS exam after completion of your Graduation Degree.

If you are a science student then only you can join Indian navy and air force

I am sorry to say that girls cannot give the NDA exam conducted by union public service commission (UPSC) , but girls have a great opportunity in army as technical graduate, now your question will be how to join army??

the answer is:

UPSC has 2 schemes:
1) technical graduate scheme
2)NCC direct entry scheme

They have been further classified below:

1)technical graduate scheme:-

after your graduation in respective field as electronics engineering field electrical engineering field mechanical field civil field architecture communication/telecommunication etc you are eligible for direct entry scheme for joining army.

NCC direct entry scheme:-

f you are having NCC 'C' certificate in respective 'army','air force',and'navy' you will be eligible for joining army.

after you been eligible for direct entry scheme, you need to fill forms for respective entry and then you will face SSB

(service selection board) in which you will face interview, various officers will scan you to the most in the interview,

task and other tests like psychology test etc.

If your are selected here you will undergo a MEDICAL test and then you have to wait for you merit list to come...

if you are in the list you are ready to serve the army..!!!

Sorry to say but i just want to tell you that you cannot appear in any of the NDA exams because you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria required for a candidate to appear in the NDA exam , which is conducted twice in a year by UPSC.

The Required Eligibility Criteria are :

* You must be an Indian Citizen.

* You must be an unmarried male.

* Your age must lie in between 16.5-19 years.

* You must have passed 12th with PCM as your key subjects from any recognized college / school.

* You should be physically & Mentally fit.

So , Based on the above , you cannot appear in the exam as the exam is conducted only for unmarried males under the above specified age group.'

Moreover , if you want to join Defense , then you can fulfill your dream through CDS entrance exam but for this you have to complete your graduation first.

Sorry there is no provision for Girls in NDA examination. You have to study till Graduation if you want to join Defence as an Officer.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA examination:

-10+2 pass from a recognised Board of Education

-Unmarried male and Indian Citizen

-Age between 16.5 to 19 years.

-Written Examination

-SSB Interview

-Medical Examination

As you are Girl you can not apply for it. You can take admission in Graduation and complete it and then apply for CDS examination.

While doing Graduation you can prepare for CDS examination so that you are well prepared when you apply for CDS examination.

No sorry girl candidates are not eligible for NDA II exam.

The eligibility criteria for NDA is:-

He must be in between 16.5-19 years.
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
The candidate must be an unmarried male.

The candidate must be medically fit.

You should have all these criteria fulfilled to apply for NDA.
So being a girl candidate you can't apply for NDA exam.
