My brother in law will finish his diploma course in this year he like to study the engineering degree in tamil nadu.
Could you please tell me how to go for further study in engineering course.

an diploma student can always opt for engineering after diploma.....the process is called as lateral admission....
all you have to do is to contact the college or institute where you want to take admission .......there may me an entrance exam or the selection will be based on percentage in diploma........

if you are applying in an university them there will be a centralized admission procedure.....where an college is allotted to a diploma students on the basis of his percentage in diploma......

so now contact nay engineering college near you for the information about appropriate admission procedure

joining in the engineering is the step towards a good future and also for a diploma students,it will be very easy to become a engineering student with good percentage.so to join in any engineering college,there will exam for diploma students,so after qualifying ,he can choose which branch he was interested according to his marks.

If he has done his diploma( 3 years or 4 years) then he can apply for a lateral entry for direct 2nd year admission to some colleges

Or can appear for AIEEE or IITJEE or for 1st year admissions

There are some entrance exams in india for Btech Lateral entry. For eg Manipal(ENAT), LEET etc

In order to apply for the college for 2nd year admission you have to fill up the form and then answer the exam. There are some 10% seats available in each branch so if he gets through then he can easily get into his favorite stream

If your brother-in-law want to proceed his studies in engineering then he should give the exam of LEET which is conducted only for the diploma holders.

Every college has some fixed seats for the diploma holders

They get admisson in 2nd year

I think he should do B.tech in that trade in which he will be completed his diploma.

A lot of hardwork is required for this course.

First two years are hard & also marks does not comes as expected
Last two years helps in makinf degree and are easy then first two years

After 2nd yera & 3rd yera student have to do training in his respective trade.

diploma students can join in engineering college through lateral admission,directly to second year.first if we want seat in a college,he has meet the concerned administrators or if he wants to join in an university,then the seat will be alloted according to merit basis i.e ur percentage.so many diploma students have joined our college through lateral entry.so even u

in most of the university there is no cet for diploma candidates as they can directly get admission in engineering through lateral admission .........

candidates get seat on the basis of the % scored in the diploma.......

so apply for the college you want directly by contacting them as soon as possible......

Mostly the Exam is conducted in month of April to June. SO you should keep yourself updated about latest notifications. Try to visit sucesscds site on daily basis and keep yourself updated about the notifications.

Further study in engineering after diploma is really a wise decision.
But why is that state or region constraint for selection of college.
It's for whole career and coming future, so the first thing I would like to advice you to opt for a good college in whichever city or state it is.

For getting into B.tech after diploma Engineering through "LAteral Entry scheme" he would have to go through entrance exams.

AIEEE:All India Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by CBSE, every year for filling the seats in NIT's, IIIT's and hundreds of institutes all across India.

Eligibility criteria for Diploma holders: candidate should have passed 3 years/4 years diploma engineering from government or recongnised institute.Candidates who are in there final semester can also sit for it provisionally.If he scores well in that entrance and his state or all India rank will be better then he will get admission into best institute of Tamil NAdu.

AIEEE 2010 has already been held on 25.03.10 all across India.Better next time.

IITJEE: is conducted by IIT's for admission into B.tech courses into IIT's.

Eligibility criteria for Diploma holders: candidate should have passed 3 years/4 years diploma engineering from government or recongnised institute with at least 60% aggregate including all semesters.Candidates who are in there final semester can also sit for it provisionally.


Besides these entrance exams every state conducts its own entrance for Lateral entry scheme.For example- West bengal conducts JELET for the purpose.And the lateral Entry at Tamil Nadu is held every year in the month of June.

Note: Through AIEEE and IITJEE admission will be provided in 1st year B.tech and through state entyrance admission will be provided direct in the 2nd year of B.tech.

firstly you have to fill LEET exam form.

LEET exam is for lateral entry in engineering after diploma.

you have to give entrance exam i.e LEET

you will directly get admission in second year.

No never !

Niether IIT's nor NIT's has lateral Entry Scheme which would lead you to enter directly into the 2nd year of B.Tech.

Even a Diploma Engineer after cracking IITJEE or AIEEE will be provided admission into 1st year at IIT's and NIT's.

It is true that various Private Institutes across India specially in Banglore, Chennai, Orissa and few in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh offers Direct admission into 2nd year of B.Tech.

But that does'nt means there is no Entrance for the purpose.

A State level entrance is conducted by state government for providing lateral entry into institutes located in that state.

Likewise West Bengal conducts JELET for the sam purpose. Besides this various Famous institutes like LPU etc. conducts there own entrance for the same purpose.

The scheme named "Lateral Entry" through which we can go for further studies in engineering course with direct entry in 2nd year...If you crack the entrance exams like IITJEE & AIEEE with a good rank then you will get admission in good colleges like NITs,IITs etc in 1st year Btech...but by giving any state entrance exam and you scored well then you will get admission directly in 2nd year...

for applying for the engineering degree you have to appear for the various entrance exam conducted by many university like AIEEE,IIT,BITS and many more private colleges.......

but now all the dates for the exam is already expired so just wait for one year and gain some more experience....

Yes, definately you can do degree courses after completing your diploma, but you have to scored 60% marks in your diploma, only then you are eligible for doing engineering
course.

So please dont worry, there are many colleges which give admissions to the diploma students , by lateral entry directly to second year. So, if you want a good college,
then please apply for the engineering entrance exams, after clear this exams, you
will get good engineering colleges.

If you are talking about Direct Admission which is offered by Private Institutes specially in Banglore, Chennai, Delhi ncr and Orissa then you have to score well at least 65% including all semester.

Otherwise you can appear for Entrance like- IITJEE, AIEEE etc. for which 60% aggregate is enough and for AIEEE even just pass is enough, but if you have good score then it will help you both in getting good institute and good placement.

do not worry it's very simple,just you need to do one thing and that is you will have to sit for the entrance exam conducted by the entrance exam organization.

so fill up the form and sit for the exam and have qualified in the exam.

Yes, your brother is elligible for eng. course.
You have to do only one thing that in which college you want to get addmission select that college and check their requirement.
There are different process in in many college.
May be you have to give some entrance exam or interview and then if you fullfill their requirement then you are selected.

Dear you can apply for engineering if you have secured more than 605 in your diploma than you you are eligible to take admission in 2nd year or 3rd semester as per AIEEE and other state entrance test and if you have secured less than 60% then you are eligible to take admission in first year in any of your desired branches.Every insitutes has this advantage,so do as you want.

to get admitted to any college of ur selected branch the process is very simple

first u give the entrance exam to get admitted to b.tech college .

in variuos states the name of xams are different like in west bengal

it is JELET.

clear the entrance xam and then get admitted.

after that u attend the counselling then u will be directly admitted to 2nd year of engineering of ur own stream.

there will be a state entrance exam ,as i am residence of andhra pradesh ,in AP we will have CEEP exam

to get admission in btech after diploma student have to go through in lateral entry test.so student have to qualify JELET(joint entrance lateral entry test).

students can also do AIME.which is equivalent to btech.but it is correspondance course...

There is direct entry procedure in the second year for the students who have completed his diploma. You can apply through counselling if conducted by the university. So you can enter through counselling in the second year.
