First of all i want to appreciate you for your goal to be an astronaut in ISRO... When i was in 10th grade i never even thought about where I am going to do my 11th... Now you dont have to be confused about how to do that...

You can take any stream in your 11th and 12th grade there is not particular stream you have to choose to join in ISRO.. but my advice to you will be to take computer stream with maths which will be helpful but its your choice and interest... After your 12th grade you can go through several course which are available to take up as a astronaut in ISRO... just visit the following site to get details about ISRO....

i need to know step by step information on how to be an astrounaut.
which stream should i select[can you do it with biology]
and on which subjects shoulod work really well

Astronuat is something whose preparation starts from scrap

• read everthing you can get your hands on about astronauts,space and whatever field you want to work in.
• For astronuat a college degree is necessity and of course the grades in too either it is engineering, biological or physical sciencd or mathematics.
• If you do M.S it is well and good.

Either you can apply for ISRO OR NASA........

There is no form for applying ISRO you need to go to isro website and fill your form but before that you need to make a D.D of 100/- and then you need to apply to website..then you need to note down your application form no and take print of the generated form and sent to the ISRO address.


Education qualification for ISRO is

we need to have a qualificatio of BE/B.Tech or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters for which results are available).

POST

SCIENTIST/ENGINEER

Candidates who are in final year can also apply for the same.

With age limit of 35 years.

AND FOR NASA..............

After college you need 3 years of related experience in your field.

after degree and some experience its time to apply for astronauts positions.NASA recieces an averge of 4015 application to fill around 20 slots for every 2 years.and they call around 118 applicants from total for ASB interview based on
experience
potentioal
motivation
ability to function as team
and communication skill.

If applicant intersted in pilot or commandor position then instead of mission specialist then you have to go for at least 1000 hours of flight time in commant of a jet aircraft.These type of training you have to face and need to do in future that why many Many applicants do not meet medical standards while others withdraw after learning all that the job entails. After all these incidents Astronaut Selection Board chooses final candidates and pass to NASA and their decision will be final.
Be prepare physically and Mentally as this not the 9-5 job which one expect but a 24 to 24 hr full dedication........

you take admission in science math section in class 12 th. after u complete ur btech in ec stream then by giving a test of isro u can join isro

hi 1st of all comlete ur 10th exam with gud marks then in 11th and 12th do it with non medical scoring high marks(80 or 90 % good marks very important for future needs @ ISRO)
Now complete ur Btech (with 70 or more %)in CSE,EC or Mechanical,every year forms come for these branches

As you have interest in space related thing, then you have to be well in physics and maths..
So, it will be better to go for Science field with physics , maths and chemistry as your optional subjects..

After completion of 12th in science you have to go for B.tech or B.E course to get a job in ISRO..
ISRO conducts a written test every year to recruit technical students..

Eligibility for ISRO:-

*The candidate must have complete the B.tech/B.E course.
*The candidate should have 60% aggregate through out the career..
*The candidates age should not be more than 35 years..

These are the criteria you have to fulfill.
So, go for science stream in 11th..

Hi ,
To become an astronaut you can go for engineering program in either Aerospace or Aeronautical field.
Now you have to do your higher secondary education the science stream.
You have to study PCM specialization in the plus-two level.
You need to score an aggregate of 65% in the 12th board exam.
Afterward you need to take the common entrance test conducted by various institutes/universities. IIT-JEE, AIEEE etc. are the known entrance exams in the country for the engineering aspirants.
For this you can start your preparation at your plus-two level itself.
If you are not interested for the Engineering background you can opt for three year undergraduate program in Mathematics, Biological or Physical science from the recognized university.
After the completion of the Post- graduate course you will be able to take the exams conducted by NASA, ISRO etc. for the astronaut aspirants.

NASA Employ specialists from different disciplines like in mathematics,engineering,computer science, physical science etc

1,candidate needs to be specialise at master's level in the subject.

dear friend,
becoming an astronaut is not an easy job.
first of all you will have to complete you 12th class with non medical and get very good marks in that.
after that you will have to give entrance exam of iit jee or aieee and score very good rank in any one of these exams.
then only you will get admission in aeronautical engineering in a good college.
isro is also proving this course from their own college. for this they are taking an entrance exam.

after completing b.tech in aeronautical, you can apply in isro and if selected you will one day definitely become an astronaut.

Hello friends, I'm an eighth-grader and my ambition in life is to become an astronaut. I want to start my preparations from now in order to achieve my goal... So please help me and tell me what should I do and how should I do. Beginning from my subjects in school to colleges and further degrees. I'll be very thankful if you could help me.

Its great that you want to become astronaut but there is slight problem. You can not become astronaut with ISRO. The reason being that despite all the things that Indian Space Research Organization has achieved in past few years, it still has't develop technology to send man into space.

It can also be said that ISRO currently has no plans to send man into space. The focus at the moment is on Lunar mission known as Chardrayan and the recent Mars mission for which governemnt of India has recently given approval.

The bottom line is that if you want to become astronaut you will have to consider the option of NASA. Only NASA at the moment is sending man into space especially from foreign origins. You may have heard about Sunita Williams and Kalpana Chawla, both of whom were sent into space by NASA.

However there is good possibility that in the near future, ISRO may also send man into space. Who knows, by the time you becomes eligible for seat in space shuttle, ISRO might be sending man into space.

Regardless of which, the procedure of becoming Astronaut will remain the same.

Procedure

1. You will first have to clear 12th with PCM.

2. You must complete graduation in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, biology or B.Tech in Aerospace.

3. Complete post graduation followed by PhD.

4. Three years of progressively experience will be required next.

5. After which you can appear for exam by NASA to recruit Scientists and Astronauts.


Upon successfully clearing the exam, you will spend next few months preparing to face the challenges of space. It will include weightless training lessons, Shuttle Mission Simulator etc.

Upon clearing all the training as well the medical tests, you will become Mission Specialist with NASA.
