Only graduates (also those with higher qualification) can try for the position of IPS Officer. So first of all, try to clear backlog papers in PU. After that, pursue graduation from any of the reputed institutes. Then you can apply for the civil service exam through the web portal of UPSC. UPSC conducts selection on the basis of written test and interview.

To become an IPS officer you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services Exams.
This exam is conducted to fill posts like: Indian Administrative Service. Indian Foreign Service. Indian Police Service. Indian P & T Accounts & Finance Service, Group ‘A’. Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Group ‘A’. Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise), Group ‘A’. Indian Defence Accounts Service, Group ‘A’. Indian Revenue Service (I.T.), Group ‘A’. Indian Ordnance Factories Service, Group ‘A’ (Assistant Works Manager, Administration). Indian Postal Service, Group ‘A’. Eligibilty to apply for this Exams is: Graduation pass in any Stream AGE- Minimum 21 years Maximum 30 years Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations So, first complete your Graduation and than apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams |
