First of all you should decide which area of research interests you. Based on you need to check out the options available to reach the same. Like if you would like to be in the field genetics then you must first complete B.Tech, then pursue M.Tech. After that you must appear for the NET exam. You will then be eligible to enter the field of research.

The path you choose will depend on the research area you want to focus.

The following are the different options:

-You can do simply B.Sc. in Biology and further M.Sc. from a reputed institution for
career as a scientist. After M.Sc. you will be required to do Ph.D.
According to your interest you can choose Botany or Zoology.

-You can take admission in B.Pharm. and further M.Pharm. for research works
related to pharmaceuticals.

-You can go for MBBS and then further higher studies oriented to research work.

To become a scientist is not an easy task. It is not like becoming an engineer or doctor.

You will have to get in research field and then your research and project works will
decide when you will become a scientist.
So, don't think that when will you become a scientist.
Just keep on doing research work, you will become a scientist on time.

what is the eligible condition to be scientist in India after M. Sc. M. Tech (microelectronic & VLSI Design) ? and what is the Percentage of the mark is required to be short listed.

i have passed 12 and have cleared iitjee2011 .i am in a position to opt for m.sc 5 yr integrated course in physics.

For scientist you study and study and study .....
first you go for BSC ( 3 year) there after MSC(2 year)
there after PHD(5 year)
then you go in research field so my dear friend you have patience to study 10 year after your +2 ..
then you are really a great man and also take care you do not fail in any class .
if you fail then you give more year for that class ...
now this is normal procedure for a scientist .just think about it ..
and complete your graduation then again ask these question because this time
