to become a sucessful software engineer u can either first become a computer engineer or in mumbai there are many institutes which give proffesional course in software field.......

to become a software engineer just write an engineering entrance exam and get a good rank

to become an software engineer join some engineering college in computer science field

you can do b.tech (software emgineering) from NIT'S & IIIT'S admission is based on AIEEE ranks.

however you can also do 3 years degree in software engineering from NIIT which have its branches all over india,after completing b.sc.

For become a software engineer you can join BCA this is software based course and then you can do MCA for master in this field........

you can take following ways to become a software engineer
1)after 10+2 take admission in BTech, computer science
2)after graduation puruse MCA
3)pursue GNIIT of NIIT or doeacc "o"."a","B" level course after 10+2 or graduation.....

Get all the math you can in High School. Try to advance to college level math before leaving high school, you'll need a ton of math to complete any Computer Science program and Engineering program.

Develop contacts with software engineers. If possible try to develop some software projects under their guidance.

To become a software engineer you need to first appear in any engineering entrance exam like IITJEE,AIEEE,WBJEE,BITSAT etc and choose streams like ECE,CSE,IT etc during counselling.The duration of the course is around 4 years and who knows ,you might be selected during campusing.

you will must be a S/W engineer,for this you have to pass 12th with Physics,Chemistry,Math with minimum 50% in PCM as well as in English 30-40%.
then you sit WBJEE,IIT-JEE,AIEEE.
in counselling choose COMPUTER SCIENCE(CSE) or INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(IT) or ECE for completing the B.Tech,then M.Tech through GATE exam.
