CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST IN BRIEF

It is under Civil Service Exam conducted Only Once in a Year by UPSC. it is having Preliminary and Mains Exam.

It Consists of Two parts a) General studies b) Optional subject

Out of 25 Subjects You need to select One subject which comes under Optional Subject.

For Example To become an IAS Officer One Needs to crack Civil Service Exam. So lets see the Eligibility criteria in Details.

Educational Qualification:-
Must hold a degree of any Discipline from any Recognized University.

No being in a Third year you can't Give CSAT Exam. Further More Details for Future Concern are

Age Limits:-
Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2010, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1980 and not later than 1st August, 1989.(This is For IAS 2011 & For Next year Exam it will be different )

Attempts:-
For General Category :- only 4 times.
For SC/ST:- Any Time under the Above age Limits.
For OBC:- Only 7 times.

For Filling up of Application Form for IAS OR Civil service Exam you need to Visit www.upsconline.nic.in

If you want to buy Offline Forms then Visit any GPO's of your City buy upsc form, Fill it and Send it to Upsc board as specified in that Broucher.


You can't Go for filling these forms now because the Notification period has been Expired.

CSAT Eligiblity Criteria -

To apply for UPSC CSAT Examination, The Candidates Must have purse a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised University. Final Year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

Eligiblity Criteria -

- You need Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Your age should between 21 to 30 years.
- Final year Graduate candidates are also eligible.

So, you are now in 3rd Year of your B.E course, So you are eligible only when you are in your final year of B.E Course.

The Examination was conducted into 2 stages, First Preliminary Examination and Main Examination. The Preliminary examination will have 2 papers of same marks and same duration and both the papers are objective type. But the Main examination you have to select the optional subjects from the list given in the UPSC website. The syllabus and pattern are also availiable in the UPSC website.

The Notification of CSAT examination was published in the employment newspaper OR in the UPSC website every year in the month of February. Eligible Candidates may apply for this examination Online. The general candidates may apply for this examination only 4 times, 7 for OBC candidates and No limits for SC, ST candidates.

Dear Aspirant,

CSAT is Civil Service Aptitude Test.It is one of the Paper in Preliminary Exam.

If you want to Become an IAS officer.you have to write First Preliminary Exam.

Preliminary Exam have two papers those are First one is General Studies.

Second one is CSAT these two papers each one 200 marks.If you want to qualify in preliminary you have at least score in 300 marks above.

CSAT and General studies are objective Test

After that MAINS,It is Descriptive test.

Final one is Interview.

Now you are not Eligible for Apply for Preliminary Exam.Eligibility is Graduation from any recognized university with any discipline.

Exam fee is 100/-

For SC/ST/DA free.

iam pursuing my btech final year.can i apply for csat 2012?

my friend since u are in your 3rd yr of studies hence u cannot take the ias exam this yr because the min. eligibility is final yr. appearing to sit for ias exams though i may advise um to spend this yr in prepairing for csat instead and also for gs since it's very difficult to crack it without proper preparation.
