dear friend,

If you have completed graduation degree then you are eligible for IAS exam.

This exam is conducted by UPSC in onece time in year.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any dicipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candiadte is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

According to the UPSC guidelines..the following candidates can apply for the Civil Service Exams :-

1) you should be a graduate or in the final year of graduation from a recognized college in India

2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit..


--->The Civil Service Exam is held only once a year and for this year the exam is over..and there is no official word out as yet for the next year's exam..

This year's Details..

---->the date of notification : 19th February,2011

----> Last date of Receipt of Form : 21st March,2011

----> Date for Prelims :- 12th June ,2011

----> Date of Mains :- 1st August,2011

Nice to see your interest in the field of the civil service examination. IAS is stand for Indian Administrative Service. The IAS entrance examination is come under civil services examination which is conducted by the UPSC once in every year. To appear in the IAS entrance examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

A graduate can be applicable for Indian Administrative Service, for this you have to apply Civil Services Examination once in a year. This Civil Services examination conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).
