You need to apply in D.G Shipping approved institutes that provides technical and management subjects at undergraduate level. It provides courses for shipping careers at management trainee level. There are various courses like 3 years B.Sc. in Nautical Science. Candidates need to be 10+2 with minimum 60 per cent and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Age limit should be between 17 to 25 years. There is also 2 years Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nautical Science.
Candidates should be 10+2 PCM and age limit for the course is 25 years. It provides the Cadet Pre-sea Training as well as onboard training of 24 Months. The Cadets learn to load ships, store cargo, handle gear, stationary rigging, and running gear, and learns ship stability, ship manoeuvring and ship management and perform a variety of operations and maintenance tasks to preserve the painted surface of the ship.
