How can I prepare for GATE while join a job?


Sir,

I am Rajashree Apate.I have completed my B.E.E&TC in july,2013 from Sangli.Currently I am working as a marketing Engineer,I got this job through campus,but I am too much interested in Teaching Field.I want to do M.Tech.please sugest me how can I prepare myself foe GATE?please suggest me names of books which I have to refer n websites for long distance study....

For getting admission to good M.Tech college, You require a good score in GATE. Thus, GATE score is useful to enter into teaching profession in engineering. Some public sector companies also recruit the candidates based on GATE.

GATE Preparation Tips
- Start preparation prior 7-8 months of GATE examination.
- Get the latest syllabus and Analyze it and Decide what you have to study ? In which area you are weak and in which area you are strong ?
- Make a study plan and Decide how many hours needed in a day for preparation. Also follow the study plan to complete preparation in time.
- Use standard reference books for preparation.
- Start your preparation one by one topic. Clear the concepts what you have studied. If any doubt, Clear it with the help of your teacher, friend or internet.
- You can also join the coaching for better preparation.
- Practice from previous asked papers and Solve mock tests.
- In numerical answer type questions, Understand the questions and calculate accurately.

GATE Exam Pattern
Most questions in GATE exam will be asked from subjects which you have studied during B.E./B.Tech. Examination is conducted in 3 hours and have total 65 questions which covers maximum 100 marks.

- Questions 1-25 : 1 Mark each (25 Marks)
- Questions 26-55 : 2 Marks each (60 Marks)
- Questions 56-60 : 1 Mark each (5 Marks)
- Questions 61-65 : 2 Marks each (10 Marks)

GATE Important Dates
- Starting of Online Registration : 1st Sept, 2017
- Closing of Online Registration : 5th Oct, 2017
- Availability of Admit Card : 5th Jan, 2018
- GATE Exam Date : 4th, 5th and 10th Feb, 2018
- GATE Result Announcement : 17th Mar, 2018

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted by the collaboration of Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) every year.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR GATE EXAM:-

Minimum qualification required to apply for the GATE exam is B.TECH, B.E, B.PHARMA, B.ARCH or Bachelors. Applicants appearing in the final year of qualifying exam can also apply for exam provided they have to submit the certificate from the Principal of University or College.

EXAM PATTERN FOR GATE EXAM:- Candidates need to get marks above the GATE cut off and here is the pattern of examination.

>> There are total 65 Objective Type Questions comprising of Total 100 Marks.

>> Each question carries only one correct answer.

>> MCQ carries one or two marks each.

>> In GATE Exam there is no sectional cut off are applied.

>> In General Aptitude there is 10 Questions which are compulsory and it carries 15 marks and this section is compulsory for all the candidates and General Aptitude questions are common for all candidates. 5 Questions carry 1 Mark and 5 Questions carry 2 Mark making it Total 15 Marks.

>> General Aptitude carries 15% of the Total marks.

>> Engineering Mathematics carries 15% of the Total marks.

>> Technical Subject carries 70% of the Total marks.

NEGATIVE MARKING CRITERIA FOR GATE EXAM:-

>> 1/3 marks is deducted for 1 Mark Question .

>> 2/3 mark is deducted for 2 Mark.

BOOKS TO PREFER FOR PREPARATION OF GATE EXAM:-

>> Engineering Maths by B.S Grewal.

>> Signal and System.

>> Communication system.

>> Electronic Instrumentation.

>> Control system engineering.

>> Communication engineering.

>> Digital electronics.

>> Analog electronics.

These are subjects to be studied to prepare for GATE exam.
