You can pursue Chartered Accountancy course through normal procedure. This means that you will first have to register for that Common Proficiency Test (CPT). This test is conducted twice a year in the months of June and December.

After clearing the Common Proficiency Test you will be able to take admission for ICAI IPCC course. This is the normal procedure which you will need to follow. Had you managed to score 55 percent marks in B.Com, there would have been no need to appear for Common Proficiency Test.

But since you haven't managed to do that. It would be essential to appear for CPT test. There are total of 4 subjects in the Common Proficiency Test. These 4 subjects are divided into two groups and you are required to score minimum of 30 percent marks in each group to pass Common Proficiency Test.

1. Fundamentals of Accountancy

2. Economics

3. Mercantile Law

4. Quantitative Aptitude

Integrated Professional Competancy Course

The next stage of Chartered Accountancy Course after clearing CPT is Integrated Professional Competancy Course. There are total of seven papers in IPCC that are divided into two groups.

Group 1

1. Accounting

2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication

3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

4. Taxation

Group 2

5. Advanced Accounting

6. Auditing and Assurance

7. Information Technology and Strategic Management

Final Course

Group 1

1. Financial Reporting

2. Strategic Financial Management

3. Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics

4. Corporate and Allied Laws

Group 2

5. Advanced Management Accounting

6. Information System control and Audit

7. Direct Tax Laws

8. indirect tax Laws
