At present the summer internship program under civil department is going to start in IISC

Department of civil engineering

This program aims at motivating and promoting the culture of research at the undergraduate level in the civil engineering disciipline.

This program is sponsored by UGC

The selected students is expected to work for a minimum of six weeks and programme could extend upto about twelve weeks depending on the individual progress and circumstances.

The internship is during May-July 2011

Highlights of program

->Mini Project in IISc

->Meeting young researchers in the department

->visits to modern research facilities in the department and Institute

->Participating in department and institute seminars and lectures during the stay

Objectives of the program

->To motivate and facilitate students to take up the research work at the undergraduate level

->To create an opportunity for UG students to meet and exchange ideas with the faculty members of the department.

Each Candidate should choose a paper for the entrance test that is the closest to the branch of his/her qualifying examination. Candidates who opt to write the ES paper will be considered only for Centre for Ecological Sciences, and the MG paper will be considered only for department of Management Studies for interview.

There are some rules or eligibility criteria behind this:

1:The summer internship program is open for second year and third year B.E./B.Tech students in India of engineering branches of CSE/ECE/EE/E&I/IT/ME

2:the students scored at least 75 percent or an equivalent grade in their B.E./B.Tech program so far.

3:The program is of two months,during the period mid of May to mid of June every year.

4:the eligible students should provide fellowship amount of Rs. 3000 per month and some contingency amount for academic expenses.

5:the students should find their own accommodation.
