Yes, you can definitely apply for a government job after completing the mechanical engineering. You can apply for the PSU exams. Through attending this exam you can apply for the jobs in government companies such as NTPC, BHEL, HAL, BEL etc. If you get short listed in the written exam, you need to attend the personal interview. You can also apply for jobs in various defense wings. There are also various jobs which you can apply by attending the various UPSC or SSC exams.

Hi

You can always do job in India in land.
I would suggest you to get some good experience before you leave your job.
Some good experience would fetch you good package in India and abroad.
Also you can join any consultancy firm with good experience.

If you want to change your field then you work ex will not held any value.
Package and Process is company specific. First try to decide weather you want to be in same field or would like to work in different field
