how many times i can write gate exam? i have applied for the gate exam this year.

hi dear,There is no restriction for number of attempts.But if u qualify, GATE scorecard is valid for 2 years.Normally,students prefer to write first time when they r in final year of graduation and later 2-3 times.I feel when u complete graduation and then appear in the next year that is the most important attempt because ur preparation will be at peak.

Till last year the same entrance exam GATE gives admissions for the students into both mtech and m.pharm.

But from this year onwards GATE is only for people who want to join mtech and for the students who want to join they have to go through GPAT.

From the upcoming year onwards the GATE exam is being conducted only once in a year.

here i am providing eligibility criterion to appear in GATE examination.

Eligibility for GATE
The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE:
a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
b) Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
c) Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
d) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

there is no limit on the number of attempts you can give for gate exam.
but there is an age limit of 30 years for general students and relaxation of 5 years for sc/st students

GATE has no limitation as far as number of attempts are concerned.

You can take the GATE exam any number of times.

However, it would be better if you crack the GATE exam in 1st or 2nd attempt.

To get a best college for doing M.tech you must be GATE qualified and based on that you can choose best colleges are
all NIT-colleges
IIT colleges
State universities like delhi university,Jntu ,osmani etc
with M.tech they also give you scholarship so that you will be financially strong....try to get 90% above in GATE.

last date for GATE exam submission is over i.e 2nd November so apply for next year!!

there is no age barrier and can take CEED as many times. There is a fixed number of assistantship available to pursue the programme.

but the gate score is valid 2years

the cost of application is 500 and 800rs

mostly student write this exam during pre final year or final year

gates score sis more important for higher studies and job also

hello,you can attempt for GATE exam more than 3 times but the GATE score is valid for only two years after the year which you have written for the exam.

you can give GATE exam as many times as you want. the eligibility requirement for the exam is that student must be appearing in final year or must have passed b.tech from a government recognized university. also there is no age limit. so you can apply for the exam next year also

That's good you have appeared for GATE exam this year.Don't worry you will make it through and even if you don't get satisfied and feel that your marks are low than you can try for next time also that's next time.There is no rules that you can't appear more than once or twice.You can try for any number of times.

Is there any rules that if i score in negative this year i won't be eligible for attempting in next year?

I heard that once any student scores negative marks , there after he will not be allowed for gate . . Is it true.?

A candidate can write the GATE exam any number of times he or she wants.

If a candidate fails to clear the GATE exam in the first attempt or any attempt, he can always try next year.
Presently, there is no restriction on the the number of times a student can give the GATE exam.
Also, there is no age limit for appearing GATE.
So you can try for GATE any time you want, provided you fulfill the other educational eligibility criteria as per their norms.

Also, if you want, after doing engineering, you can drop a year and prepare hard for the GATE exams. After that you can apply for the GATE exams. Most students these days do the same, that is they drop a year and study for the exam. In this way they get the time to prepare as their no burden of studying anything else.

My dear friend, there is no limit for appearing GATE exam.
You can appear as much as you want.
Since you wrote GATE this year, the results will come on 15th March 2011.
So prepare well and you can start from now onwards.

As per my knowledge u can attempt as many as times.

there is no such limits for the number of attempt for the GATE exam. you can attempt fpr as many time as you wish and the result is valid for 2 years. so if you are in prefinal year also then too you can appear for the GATE. its normally held every year in the month of February.

there is no limitation to give gate exam and once you give gate exam its result valid for 2

years .that mean that you can take admission to any college in same rank after 2 years .

It held in feb. month. In the prospectus eligiblity criteria is given but there is no any limitation in number of attempts.

GATE forms are available by cash payment from Designated Branches of the specified banks corresponding to the zone a candidate lives in. Forms can also be obtained directly from the Zonal GATE offices of IITs and IISB or by sending an application along with a demand draft to the corresponding zonal office requesting for the application form. Candidates also have the option to apply online through the GATE website. The cost of the offline form is Rs. 1000 and for the online application it is Rs. 800 for General and OBC students. For SC/ST/OBC Students the cost of the form/online application is half of that of General and OBC students
