hello dear
see, you can appear in the GATE exam many time as your wise. there is no age limit or no of attempt criteria to appear in the gate exam. only the require qualification is 1.BE/B.Tech from AICTE/UGC approved college/university.pre final year students are also eligiable. 2.M.SC from UGC approved college/university. There is no restriction as such. This is unlike entrance tests to entry into undergraduate programme where you can attempt only a limited number times. You can attempt Gate as much as number of times as you wish. In general, those who holds bachelor's degree in engineering or M.SC in science/Mathematics/statistics/computer science can sit for Gate. So, you don't need to worry about such things and start preparing well.

Re: How many attempts are allowed in GATE entrance exam? Is there any restriction for Open Candidate?
dear friend,
You can appear in GATE exam how many times you want, there is no such limit.. If you are doing engineering then you can appear in GATE exam after completion of your graduation or during final year of your graduation from a recognized university.. But if you are in general field then you can appear in GATE exam after your PG course like- M.Sc, MCA etc.. So, My friend don't worry, you can appear in GATE exam 'N' number of times... All the best. |

By get exam you can get chance of admission in IIT college for M.Tech.M.Tech from IIT college has its importance.you have to try first M.Tech from IIT college. GATE is not a simple exam you have to try hard for success in GATE exam.you have to choose best book for Preparation and study hard.you can join Coaching institute for better success. |

Re: How many attempts are allowed in GATE entrance exam? Is there any restriction for Open Candidate?
1.Yes, those students who are having backlogs can also apply for the GATE exam, there is no such condition in GATE exam
2.We know that from last 2 years the validity of GATE is for two years 3.So one who are in 3rd year can also apply for GATE 4.But at the time of GATE counseling, you should not have any backlogs, indeed if you have backlogs you will not get certificate from your University, which is highly essential at the time of counseling GATE-(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) All the best |

Re: How many attempts are allowed in GATE entrance exam? Is there any restriction for Open Candidate?
GATE EXAM PATTERN
In GATE Exam pattern, you can make any attempts as you want, there is no restriction for that. GATE Exam mainly focus on the Technical and aptitude areas of the subject. They check the application of the theory and the ideas and concepts. GATE Score is valid for two years,so if are qualified this year then it will be valid till two years, again if you want to apply for it,you have to apply for it again, Many PSU companies are now hiring on the basis of GATE score. So,prepare well for it,and you can do it as many times as you want. If you have any doubt about GATE exam, feel free to write to me. Regards, Yash |
