Whts the maximum attemps for ies exam for general catagory student.is there any exception for govn employees.

And my second whts the cut off marks for ies electrical in general catagory..
Please any one clarify me in these..thanks in advance..

IES - Indian Engineering Service

This exam is conducted by UPSC and is held every year.This is one of the competitive exams in India


You are ineligible to apply for the IES exam,as on the condition that you have completed your graduation in B.E in EEE.

There are criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order to be eligible for applying for the IES Exam

Eligibility Needed:

>> Candidate need to be a citizen of India.

>> Candidate must have 21-30 years for General category.

>> The candidates should also have a age limit of 21-35 years for SC/ST category.

>> The candidates should also have a age limit of 21-33 years for OBC category.

>> Education qualification needed by the candidate is that he/she should have completed a degree in Engineering/Technology in departments:

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering

are only eligible.

Attempts Allowed:

For General Category - 4

For SC/ST - No Limit

For OBC - 7
