Dear friend,

The IES examination conducted every year by UPSC

allows every candidate of GEN category to clear the

examination in maximum 4 attempts. For OBC category

the maximum attempt no. has been relaxed to 5 and for

SC/ST/PD candidates there is no restriction on no. of attempts

to pass the examination.

So, choose your attempts wisely and appear only when you

are fully prepared for the examination technically as well as mentally.

I want to inform you that in generals a student can apply maximum 4 times in IES
but obc can apply 5 times
but think there is no restrictions for applying of ST/SC.
they can apply unlimited numbers of time

If you belong to SC/ST candidate then according to eligibility criteria for IES is there is no limit for to appear in the IES examination. Ies exam is conducted by UPSC. For more information please see the official website of UPSC.

Indian Engineering Services exam (IES) is a premier competitive examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for selecting engineers for Government of India's engineering organizations, such as Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Central Engineering Service (CES), Millitary Engineering Service etc.

The examination is conducted once in every year mostly in the month of June/July. You can find the recruitment notification in major news papers, employment news and official website of UPSC soon after the announcement of notification.

The maximum number of attempts allowed for this exam may vary from category to category. Here i am providing you the maximum number of attempts for each category. Go through it.

For General : Maximum of 4 attempts
For OBC : Maximum of 7 attempts
For SC/ST : No limit at all

Maximum no. of attempts allowed for IES examination?

Number of attempts :
4 attempts for general candidates.
7 attempts for OBC candidates.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Hiii,

Their is a limit criteria and the no of chance criteria between the age of 21 to 30 (for general cetegory ) and 21 to 35 (for other cast leave general) you may apply 3 times for that exam..

I TAKE 4 TIMES IN A CONTINUOUS WAY OR IN A DISCRETE MANNER MEANS IF I WILL GIVE FIRST EXAM IN 2011 THEN MY CHANCE WILL BE FINISHED ON 2014

IES is Indian Engineering Service

IES exam is conducted by UPSC every year for candidates of Civil. Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

the minimum requirement to appear in the ies exam is that , candidate must have to be graduate student in any of the engineering branches like civil , mechanical , electrical , electronics.

the general category candidates are allowed to attempt this exam for four times while obc category candidates are allowed for 7 times and there is no restriction for the sc/st category candidates on the number of attempts.

for general category,the age limit is 21-30 years..for OBC it is less than 33 years,for SC/ST it is less than 35 years..

for which the eligibility criteria is;

qualification

- a candidate should be engineering graduate from any
recognized university in the following stream
-Electrical Engineering
-Electronics & Communications Engineering
-Civil Engineering
-Mechanical Engineering

-or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

-M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts

-a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam

-for OBC upper age limit is 33 years

I don't how the people are giving the information even though they don't know exactly.

Indian Engineering exam is conducted by upsc every once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers to different department in the government.
