How many times of the vacancy are selected at the preliminary examination and how many candidates will be call for interview?

The preliminary exams are generally taken to shortlist the candidates in the exams where a huge number of applicants apply.
There is no as such exact data for it. But it is generally 20 times of the vacancy available if there is any next step after the mains i.e. interview /gd etc.
If there is no further round after the mains exam then they select 10 times of the vacancy available.
