To become a Income Tax Officer(ITO) first you can crack the exam which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission(SSC) once in a year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

Candidate should be citizen of India.

Education qualification:

Candidate should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

There is no percentage required to apply this exam.

Age limit:

Candidate age should be between 18 to 27 years.

age relaxation:

OBC Candiates : 3 years

SC/ST Candidates: 5 years.

PHC Candidates: 10 years.

General Intelligence
Arithmetical Ability
General Awareness
General English

Selection Process:

Written exam.
Interview.

Income Tax officer exam is taken by the Staff Selection Commission through CGL (Common Graduate Level) Written Exam.This exam is conducted in the month of May every year.Exam Notification for SSC CGL Comes in the first week of March every year.

To apply for SSC CGL Exam,the eligibility requirements are :

Educational qualification :

• You should have a bachelor degree of minimum 3 years from recognized university or its equivalent.
• Candidates who have higher educational degree will also be to apply for this exam.

Age required :

• Your minimum age should be 18 years at the time of applying for this exam.
• Your age should not be above 27 years.

Age Relaxations : Candidates who belongs from the reserved category will also be able to get age relaxation facility.Its details are as follows :

• OBC category candidates will get 3 years.
• SC/ST category candidates will get 5 years.

Marks required :

• Minimum marks required to apply for this exam is 50% in Graduation level.

Preliminary Written exam pattern

1. Total duration - 2 hour and 40 minutes.
2. Number of questions - 100.
3. Total marks - 200.
4. Number of sections - 4.

You can prepare for Income Tax Officer exam through Coaching or through Self Study according to your convenience.
