How to prepare for NDA? Theoretically and Physically?
I am a student of class 11th with PCM. I want to join NDA. My question is, how I can prepare my self for NDA enterence exams theoretically and physically and I also want to know what are the physical requirements for it?

NDA is the exam for joining to the following courses: 1.Airforce 2.army 3.Navy 4.Nava, academy For peparation you can start from now and you update your knowledge with the general knowledge. Read manorama,Frontline,India today,indian histiry,sc etc. for physical preparation,go for jogging and walking in the early morning,In the SSB they will give breakfast at 6 oclock and you should finish before that.Wake up early,try to increase your stamina,do long jumps,rope climbing,wall climbing,group discussions Develop your self confidence. All the best for your exam!! |

Dear friend,
To join NDA you should have command on Physica and maths syllabus of class 11th and 12th. GK and current affairs are also the part of the syllabus. The physical requirements are- 1.Your chest must be atleast 75 cm without expansion and above 80 after expansion. 2.Your age must be between 16 and 1/2 to 19 years. 3.Height must be above 150 cm. 4.Technical and communication skills must be very good. 5.Your eyes must be 6/6. I have given the required details regarding this , first of all you have to apply a form for it before this see the required eligibility
Educational Qualifications : (i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. |

National Defence Academy Examination (II) – NDA Physical Standards 2011 Candidates must be physically fit according to NDA physical standards for National Defence Academy admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2011 as per guidelines given in Appendix V. Guidelines For Physical Standards for Admission to the National Defence Academy Note :Candidates must be Physically and Mentally fit According to the prescribed Physical standards. The guidelines for the same are given below. A Number of qualified candidates are rejected subsequently on Medical grounds. Candidates are therefore advised in their own interest to get themselves medically examined before submitting their NDA Online applications 2011 to avoid disappointment at the final stage. Candidates are also advised to rectify minor defects / ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB. Few of such commonly found defects / ailments are listed below : 1. Wax (Ears) 2. Deviated Nasal Septum 3. Hydrocele / Phimosis 4. Overweight / Underweight 5. Under sized Chest 6. Piles 7. Gynaecomastia 8. Tonsillitis 9. Varicocele Civilian candidates appearing for all types of Union Public Service commission in the Armed Forces will be entitled to out-patients treatment from service sources at public expense for injuries sustained or diseases contracted during the course of their NDA examination 2011 by the Selection Board. They will also be entitled to in-patient treatment at public expense in the Officers’s ward of a hospital provided 1. The injury is sustained during the NDA tests or 2. The disease is contracted during the course of the National Defence Academy examination by Staff selection board and there is no suitable accommodation in local civil hospital or it is impracticable to remove the patient to the civil hospital; or 3. The medical board requires the candidates’s NDA admission for observation. Note : They are not entitled to special nursing. A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a NDA medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However the candidates declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Medical Board and the procedure for request for an Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to the candidate. Candidates declared unfit during Appeal Medical Board will be intimated about the provision of Review Medical Board. a. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease / disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties. b. There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese. c. The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable heights will be 5 cms. less. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minumum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. |

for physical fitness try to wake up early such as 5 oclock in morning .,go for jogging and walking in the early morning,In the SSB they will give breakfast at 6 oclock and you should finish before that.

Ear, Nose and Throat Conditions 1.The hearing should be normal. 2.A candidate should be able to hear a forced whisper with each ear at a distance of 610 cms in a quite room. 3.There should be no evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose and throat. 4.Audiometric test will be done for AF. Audiometric loss should not exceed+20 db in frequencies between 250Hz and 4000 Hz. 5.There is no impediment of speech. |

I am 12th pass out student with PCM.I got 59.20 marks in overall subject.I like defence job.Presently i wants to join in nda.I have 165 cm height and weight 58kg.My date of birth is 19/07/1994.I have no idea for this service.Please help me

->GIRLS are not eligible for the NDA exam because girls are allowed in the COMBAT branch of INDIAN ARMY and secondly the training part of the NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY is very tough which a girl can't take so that's why they don't allow girls to appear in the exam of NDA.
->Friend if you really wanted to join INDIAN DEFENCE FORCES then you can join through COMMON DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION and this exam is conducted for both male and Female candidates. ->Through this exam you can join any of the DEFENCE FORCE of our country but there is some criteria to qualify in order to appear for the exam. FOR CDS EXAMINATION : CDS Stands for Combined Defense Services and this examination is also conducted by UPSC Twice in a year. * For IMA/OTA : You have to complete your Graduation in any discipline form a recognised Board. * For Naval and Air Force : You have to complete your Engineering degree or B.sc with Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects. Sir, what procedure do you held for physical and knowledge based interview? i could attempt 80 or 90 question in mathematics but in i could do 50 question only . So can do for improving my general ability? Please answer question as early as possible. I will be hihghly obliged for it.

i am topper in physics and maths, my height is 164cm, but i cant say about other physical standards, and ya i have spects(0.25,0.5) am i elligible? i can get somwhere else with lot of salary, but i wanna serve my country's defence.
