7 years gap is too long my friend. In my opinion, you should go for a job rather than doing MBA. Wish you very good luck.

Year(s) gap for only exam preparation is not acceptable in any organization.

7 yrs. gap no doubt is a long time...in my opinion you should first take up a job and once you have experienceof 2-3 yrs. you can think of MBA...wish you all the best for placement....you dont have any option but to tell the truth to hr...be confident

No not at all,but u need to justify ur gap by technical knowledge.

ya,the 7 year gap is too long and it will make difficulty in your placement.Because many software companies have age limit.

Studying MBA is a good choice according to me.By the couse of time,u itself can start your own business which will help you life long.Moreover Engineers with MBA is a good and rare combination.So do your MBA.If you are not wiiling to study and in need of a job,no problem.U r science+engineering student.The company will question you for your year gap is only less probability,if the companies have no age limit.

Look you had already take 7 year gap for iits so in my point of view don't waste your that 7 years of scarifies ,go for job it would be a better option for you,because you had taken such a long gap for doing engg. so don't change your field.See if u you are technically sound person than nobody is going to ask you about that gap,the only thing is that you have to be perfect in your field,with good technical knowledge so it will help you a lot.so concentrate on your studies and sharpen yours technical skill ok.all the best for your carrier

Its not a matter , education has no age limits SO get ride of studying do you know that after a 10 years gap an women ,studied and now get placed in a good job in iit. so don't worry but make yourself good in knowledge because knowledge is more important,
I don't ask you to stop your education
and i don't ask you not to work ,don't confuse.
why can you do the both in same time because many institution prefer part time and Sunday courses
so you have no problem so take the both and work hard you will reach the destiny.

It won't affect your career if you done any courses between that time otherwise it definitely affect you.

what i have seen and realised tha generally studends having years gap r given priority from the college during placements.........

dont worry just say he truth to the HR...try and convince him that u did this u were despirate to enter a good college.....

A seven years long gap is a bit long gap but since you are in the final year of B.E i think it will be better if you try to explain your situation to them during the placements because some of the companies may offer you so you better explain them.

i attended TCS interview,they asked me the reason for doing so,
it depends on the interviewer but it does affect a bit i think after my last experiance

No I Don't think that there is any kind of age requirement in doing MBA only requirement is of graduation or any equivalent degree so would like to suggest you to work hard and complete your MBA with full dedication. All the very best for your carrier.

hi dont worry for the year gap that you have taken,it hardly matters if you have knowledge ,

and moreover you have to convince the interviewer about the reasons of you gap.and if you have knowledge then no body can stop you.

and you have told that you want to do mba,then i want to tell you that its a very wise decision ,because mba exams dont have any age criteria,like

CAT dont have any age criteria,you can write cat anytime and do mba.

well two year gaps are tolerable so don't worry secure good marks in semester atleast above 60 % this may cover your year gap

no it wont harm your career as many students take a drop after 12th but your age might create a problem at taht point

you can go for MBA, because after doing your B.tech your mind is in study mood so it will be easy to do MBA.
if you go for a job for 2-3 years then you might loose the rhythm of study & it will be difficult for you to study.
so i suggest go for MBA

no dear ,1 to 2 year gape is not effected your career.so don't think about it.

no i will no afftect you so much but during the time of placement it may affect as many company prefer for the young ones.

yes my dear friend taking so long gap and then appearing for btech does dot justify any thing neither your intrest nor your qualification yu just tried toi obe jack of all trades and in the end you resulted to be the master of none but still there will be as such no problem except you may have crossed the age limit for applying into most of the reputed companies but you can still make it by showing some of the technical qualifications and work experience that you may have ghathered all these days throughout. anywys wishing you luck and all the best for future .. take care byeee

In my opinion 7 years gap is very very long time for exam preparation then you can find a good job and dont be discourage because you have many opportunity because you done B.Tech

well u may have to convince them as to those seven years which you lost in the process...frankly, this will raise the eye-brows of the HR manager but if you could show that you did the time for productive work, it might prove a bonus ....that even after so many years he is willing to continue

but do not be upset you go for MBA degree ..
if you have master degree then company see only your B tech and MBA degree

if you apply as a Btech degree then company see your +2 and Btech degree....
it is time to prepare your self for

a year gap of 2 to 3 years doesnt matter if you are from core stream
but it may affect you in software branch

if only you would have enrolled yourself in the bachelors degree you could have got away because the colleges and institutions donot tolerate so many years gap just for preparation of the entance exams
but you can still succeed
just go for some other study line like BSc

year gap will not effect your job carrer,but if you are looking for doing mba then it will definitely effect you so in my opinion i suggest you to look for the job it will be good for you.

your gap is very long, i think you should have face problem in future, you should have face problem in various entrance exams............

companies generally considers freshers as preference when it comes during campussing.
but if you have a gap of more than 1 years then there is no problem.but more than 1 years gap may create problem.you have to clearly justify yourself .

hello friend,according to my openion definitely it will make effect in your carrier.

see 1 year gap is ok but more than that is bad.
also overall 60% is always needed in placements.

My branch is information technology.i have 3years gapping b/w intermediate and B.E plz..give me idea about the s/w company which doesn't concentrate on gapping

see friend, it matters a little bit during your campussing, but if you are a studious student and if you 10th,12th as well as your semester results are good and up the mark then there will be no problem for you .
