Re: Which institutes offer quotas for Nepal students in India? Do IITs offer admission?
Hi
Yes various institutions and IITs in india offering quotas for Nepal Students and NRIs. These students get into IIT on the basis of SAT scores, however the rest of the students prepare for 1-2 years for the JEE exam. The difference is that the preparation for the JEE exam is hard and "prepares" students for IIT. In IIT, every exam is like taking a JEE exam. So the people who get into IIT with the NRI quota find it hard to cope and usually trail the class. This is probably why the IITs stop offering the NRI Quota now. However, I still think that anyone who gets into IIT is getting one of the best educations in the world ... so if they work hard, it will help them in the long run. Also, when you get out of IIT, nobody knows how you got in - everyone thinks you got in through JEE ! The best thing these students can do is prepare for JEE and take it, even though they get in through the NRI quota. Regards |

Re: Which institutes offer quotas for Nepal students in India? Do IITs offer admission?
Indian Embassy doesn't send to IITs under its scholarship. It was long time back when it used to send the students to IITs. But it sends students to various NITs across the country. The best NITs are NIT,Warangal ... NIT,Surathkal ... NIT,Trichy. These 3 NITs have been considered the institutes of national importance. Remaining NITs are also good and many of them fall in top 50 engineering colleges of India.
And regarding placement, almost all NITs have good placement history. Placement process starts from 6th semester and continues till 8th semester. The companies coming to NITs are really good. Regarding infrastructure, saying quite frankly, most of the NITs have no good infrastructure. But its not the point which makes you reject NITs. Getting admission in any NIT is a reputed matter. |
