Well friend, the LEET or Lateral Entry Entrance Tests are conducted on state level. But some colleges and Univerities too conduct Lateral Entry Tests. You will get direct admission to 2nd year of B.Tech if you clear the exam. Remember, eligibility for admission to Lateral Entry B.Tech course is a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the Diloma course.

Now coming to the other part of your question I'll say that no matter which state you belong to, you can try at colleges/Universities in other cities/states; in fact, you can apply anywhere in India. Just visit the websites of different colleges/universities, submit your application and prepare yourself for the Lateral Entry Exam.

Yes. I believe, LEET is state wise examination and is taken in punjab. It is for entry into Institutes functioning in Punjab.

I believe, there is no seperate entrance exam for lateral entry in Bangalore. You have to take the Common Entrance test conducted for 1st year. check the university website.

LEET (Lateral Entry Test) are conducted state wise.The one which is conducted online is OLET(online lateral entry test).The registration fees depends on the state.

I would prefer you to go before the local exam since outside haryana there is some fixed quota for bonafide residents and hence this would decrease chance of getting admission.

Admissions in Haryana LEET is made on the basis of the inter se merit of Online Entrance Test- OLET(LEET)conducted by HSCS through NIC.
Candidate may get info after registering at this site:

LEET i.e. Lateral Entry Entrance Test are conducted to get a direct admission in the second year of B.Tech or B.E. and are state level exams.
You need an minimum aggregate of 60% in your deploma to apply.

You can surely apply for any state/college/university exam you prefer but its better to stick to your home or region, you get more preference there.
There is a very small quota for other state candidates and a tough competition from all over india, but if you are ready for the tough fight you can go according to your wish.

Don't get confused,LEET exam is conducted separately by each Technical University of a State.LEET exam will make you eligible to take admission in Engineering directly in second year.There are LEET exams which are conducted on all India level i.e ECET(Engineering Common Entrance Test).
For getting admission in Engineering on the basis of Diploma,you must have to satisfy the following eligibility conditions:

The eligibility conditions for LEET are:

• You must have passed your Diploma coursefrom a recognized Institute or any State Board of Technical Education.
• You must have cleared your Diploma course with minimum 60% marks.
• You must not have any backlogs left in Diploma course.
• Your age should not be more than 28 years at the time of test.

On the basis of your rank in the LEET test,you will be assigned College,the higher rank you will score in the Test,the better College you will get.Moreover,on the basis of LEET,you will directly get admission in 2nd year of Engineering.So,the course duration for you will be 3 years instead of 4 years.
