how to join merchant navy after 10th

You can't get a job in Merchant Navy with your current education profile.
I'm providing the reeducation criteria for the different jobs in Merchant Navy.

*3 year degree course in Nautical Science for (10+2) students.

*4 year degree course in Marine Engineering for (10+2) students.

*2 year course for Diploma Holders.

You can not join merchant navy by holding your 10th certificate.

the minimum requirement is 10+2 in pure science i.e physics, chemistry, maths.

after 12th, you can get a direct entry for the post of Deck cadets.

But if you want to join higher post, then you have to complete your graduation in marine engineering or electrical, mechanical or technology engineering.

So atleast complete your 12th and that too taking pure science.

why not after 10th

The minimum qualification required to join Merchant Navy is plus two. The plus two pass out with at least 70% in the qualifying examination. Also only students with subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for career in Merchant Navy. The course duration in Merchant Navy varies from 3 months to 4-5 years. But the academy offers rating course for the 10th pass out students including 3 months course for Deck rating, Engine rating etc.

▒ Rating:700-1000 US $

▬► Deck Officers:
The Officers of this Post basically look after the Ships Navigation, Loading and Unloading of the Cargo, And the Genral Maintanance & Administration of the Ship. The Following are levels one can Climb up! From initial to Final:

• 3rd Officer:Normally Looks After the Life Saving Appliances
• 2nd Officer:Looks after the Passage Planning & The Navigation Equipment.
• Chief Officer: Administers the Cargo Works.
• Master: Overall Incharge Of the Ship!

▬► Engineering Officers:
These are the Officers who are qualified as a Marine Engineer. They Join in as a 4th grade Marine Engineer and Get promoted step by step to 3rd grade, 2nd grade, & Chief Engineers. The Engineering Department In General Looks after the main Engines, power Generation Equipments, Air-Conditioning, etc..

To be Precise:

• 4th Engineer: Responsible for Operation and Maintainance Of Engine Room Auxiliaries.
• 3rd Engineer:Looks after the Fuel, Water, and Boiler Room Equipments.
• 2nd Engineer: For Lubricating the System, Engine Room Auxiliaries, And Electric Equipments.
• Chief Engineer: Overall Performance of the Ship.

▬► Radio Officers:
As the Name Suggests, they are responsible and look after all the Electronic Communications and other Related Records. He also Looks after the Electronic Navigation Aids such as Radar, Depth Measuring Devices, GPS etc. To be a Radio Officer, a Person has to do a two week GMDSS ( Global Maritime Distress & Safety Systems ) Course.

▬► Ratings: There are Three Kinds Of Ratings:

• Deck: Responsible For Cargo Handling, Mooring/Unmooring & General Maintainance Of the Ship.
• Engine Room: Assists the Engineering Officers in maintainance & Operating engine and Related Equipments.
• Catering: Consists of Cooks/Stewards, they Look after the Catering & The House Keeping Of Officers Cabin.

There are 4 months Deck Cadet Course and 4 years Degree course in Marine Engineering. In both courses, candidates have to be class 12 pass and age limit is 25 years. Of course you can join Merchant Navy after completion of class 10 too. There is Deck Cadet Course spanning for 3 Months. Such courses are Diploma in Applied Science or Deck Watchkeeper. It provides the Cadet Pre-sea Training as well as onboard training of 24 Months. Salary depends on appointment and varies between RS 25,000 TO 33, 000.
