please give me details about...how many attempts or chances are allowed for IAS Exam?

For IAS, one need to go through a civil services examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

Here i am providing the maximum number of attempts that a candidate can attempt IAS Exam.

Candidates who belong to General category can appear for a maximum of 4 times.

Candidates who belong to OBC, can appear for a maxmum of 7 times.

For the candidates who belong to SC/ST category, can appear for any number of times. For these candidates there are no restrictions on the number of attempts for IAS Exam.

In order to be eligible, one should have completed Graduation from a recognized university.

Academic Eligibility:-

must be graduate from UGC approved college.

Number of Attempts:-

A maximum of 4 attempts is permitted to every candidate and 7 to those belonging to Other Backward Classes. There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Age Limit

A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.

upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.

I.A.S stands for Indian Administrative Service Examination.

Civil Service Examination include twenty three service of government of India.The most of aspired services are the Indian Administrative Service,Indian Police Service.

For example :- If you have belongs to the OBC category,the candidate should have a minimum 21 years to 33 years of age and you have a seven attempts for Civil Service examination.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year.This exam is one of the Indian Civil service exam.

The candidate who are having a degree from a recognized university are eligible for the exam.

If you belong to general category, your maximum number of attempt will be 4 times, otherwise, the maximum number of attempts for candidates belonging to OBC category is 7 times.
There is no maximum limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

Attempts are complete depends upon the caste.

there are 4 attempts for IAS exam. 5th attempt is not applicable for you

IAS (Indian Administrative Services) is basically for those who are firmly determined for dedication of themselves towards the own country.

If you are so interested for IAS,after being Engineers, Doctors, or Ph.d you can sit IAS exam conducted by UPSC.

Application forms will come out in the month of January.

According to the new exam pattern of the IAS exam
1) General-Studies paper which carries 150 marks

2) Optional paper which carries 150 marks.

Eligibility Criteria :-

1.Educational Qualification:To appear in IAS exam you should have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. If you are in final year you can also eligible to apply for the examination.

On the other hand an OBC student or candidate can appear 7 times.
