So, basically candidates belonging to General Category are allowed to write the examination for a maximum of Four Times. Candidates belonging to OBC category are allowed to qualify the examination in a maximum of Seven attempts and for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, there is no limitation in number of attempts for Civil Service Examination.
