Is there a possibility to enter into research in India after finishing UG?

In India research work is generally done after completing the Postgraduate course by pursuing the doctoral programme in relevant subject. After the undergraduate course you have to complete you PG course in the same subject in which you wish to do your research work. To pursue the Doctoral programme candidates have to sit for an entrance exam and present his paper in a seminar and on the basis of the performance in the seminar the candidates gets admission for the doctoral programme.
