Procedure to join NIT for higher studies after completion of diploma in Metallurgy? What should be the initial steps to follow for applying for the admission process? Can someone please give me the complete details on the same? Thanks!

For getting admission in any of the NITs, you will have to qualify JEE Main Exam conducted by CBSE every year.
You must be studying 12th from PCM stream or have passed it to appear for JEE Main Exam. To get admission in NITs, you should have secured rank below 20k AIR. Then only you can get admission into NITs. However, you can get admission to other NITs which are not popular enough at AIR above 20k. Then, you can apply for Counselling through CCB to get your branch in desired NIT. |

No, you are not eligible to join NIT for higher studies after completion of your Diploma in Metallurgy. Diploma holders are not eligible to get admission in NIT. To be eligible to get admission for pursuing your higher studies in NIT, you should have passed 12th standard with PCM stream from a Government recognised board. So, being a Diploma holder, you are not eligible to apply for JEE Main examination for pursuing your higher studies in NIT.
