Basic entry requirements are two A-levels or the equivalent. A degree is not essential, graduate entrants are actually in the minority. Personal characteristics are more important: you must be practical, flexible in your approach and able to demonstrate well-developed people and team-working skills. and then to get a good job you need to appear in civil services exam |

the Basic Qualifications required to be a custom offier:
* Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing * Be at least 18 years old or minimum age required by your State * Be able to work flexible schedules * Have a high school diploma or GED * Have reliable transportation * Not use illegal drugs. You must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment). * Be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable * Pass a State licensing test if you will be driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle * Be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if you were in the military * Be able to successfully complete all training required for the position * Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors * Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public |

You have to be consistant and you need good GCSE results and you have to be very strict and know the laws and you also need to be good at questioning people plus you need to be not shy.

there is two ways to become a customs officer. one is by promotion from inspector of customs who will be appointed by the staff selection commission from which you have to opt for customs inspector in the application process itsle.if second one is a junior IRS officer will be appointed as Customs officer in big customs houses like mumbai etc, and the IRS as everybody knows, will be confered by the coveted Civil Services examination conduted by the UPSC......

for the customs officer there is two ways, either you give the UPSC EXAM, or you give the exams of s s c(staff selection committee) and for both there must be a graduation degree. o k good luck |

you prepare for SSC exams ...
for this exam you must have bachelor degree, with good marks.. training institutes are selected after you pass the exam... good luck. |

to become a custom office you must be a graduate and have to appear for UPSC civil service exam. And its there on the basis of your ranking you will be provided customs department.

Hi!
The minimum educational qualification required for becoming a customs officer is a degree from a recognised university. Age must be less than 28 years but SC/ST candidates get some age relaxation. You must go through competitive exams like UPSC & state PSCs in order to qualify as a customs officer. Search their web site or regularly read employment news for latest vacancies. |

To be a customs officer, you have to appear for a civil service examination. the minimum qualification of a civil service exam is minimum 50% at graduation level. To be custom officer you should be a graduate from recognized University. The age should be minimum 21 years and not more than 30 years. Candidates should have at least 50% in graduation. You have to appear for the examination which is conducted by UPSC.
